Dynamic Effects in Spinodal Decomposition
We present a preliminary study of wave propagation in elastic media which can undergo spinodal decomposition. Spinodal decomposition is a phase separation process which takes place by non-linear diffusion.

Towards predictive simulations of spinodal decomposition in Fe-Cr alloys
Simulations of spinodal decomposition in an Fe-36 wt%Cr alloy at 773 K are performed by solving the non -linear Cahn-Hilliard equation, and the results are compared with atom probe tomography measurements.

The microstructural features of a high-strength body-centered cubic Mg-Li–Al-Ag alloy are investigated and the strengthening mechanisms are discussed. The results show that obvious spinodal decomposition occurs in the alloy.

Ageing of cast duplex stainless steels (DSS) is attributed to the decomposition of the ferrite: spinodal decomposition and precipitation of G-phase particles. This leads to an increase in hardness and a decrease in Charpy toughness.

Molecular doping of conjugated polymers is fundamentally constrained by thermodynamic phase behavior. This Perspective reframes doping efficiency and stability in terms of miscibility limits, binodals, and solvus boundaries, highlighting the role of effective interaction parameters and charge transfer.

Atomistic-continuum hybrid analysis of dislocation behavior in spinodally decomposed Fe-Cr alloys
In this study, we first present the molecular dynamics (MD) simulation of dislocation behavior in a spinodally decomposed Fe-Cr alloy. The MD simulation is used for exploring the nature of the interaction between a dislocation and the spinodal ...

Using the Cahn–Hilliard Theory in Metastable Binary Solutions
A solution may be in one of three states: stable, unstable, or metastable. If the solution is unstable, phase separation is spontaneous and proceeds by spinodal decomposition.

Phase Diagrams and Piezoelectric Properties of Wurtzite Al1−x−yScxGdyN Heterostructural Alloys
This study demonstrates ferroelectricity and piezoelectric properties improvement of quaternary wurtzite Al1−x−yScxGdyN${\rm Al}_{1-x-y}{\rm Sc}_x{\rm Gd}_y{\rm N}$ films, guided by density functional theory calculations. Wurtzite Al1−x−yScxGdyN${\rm Al}_{1-x-y}{\rm Sc}_x{\rm Gd}_y{\rm N}$ films have a high optical bandgap, enhanced piezoelectric ...
