Suprascapular nerve injury at the spinoglenoid notch after glenoid neck fracture
Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery, 2000We report a complex combined glenoid, acromial, and coracoid fracture that caused incomplete infraspinatus paralysis. This proved to be due to transection of one trunk of a duplicated suprascapular nerve at the spinoglenoid notch. Open reduction and internal fixation included a modified tension band wiring technique previously not described for ...

Suprascapular Nerve Entrapment at the Spinoglenoid Notch in a Professional Baseball Pitcher
The American Journal of Sports Medicine, 1999Suprascapular nerve injuries at the spinoglenoid notch are uncommon. The true incidence of this lesion is unknown; however, it appears to be more common in athletes who participate in sports involving overhead activities. When a patient is being evaluated for posterior shoulder pain and infraspinatus muscle weakness, electrodiagnostic studies are an ...

[Suprascapular nerve entrapment at the spinoglenoid notch].
Revue neurologique, 1992The suprascapular nerve passes through the spinoglenoid notch with a risk of entrapment. This results in distal nerve lesion characterized by isolated paralysis of the infraspinatus muscle and, most often, by shoulder pain. We report 7 clinical and electromyographical cases of pure infraspinatus muscle paralysis.

Arthroscopy: The Journal of Arthroscopic & Related Surgery, 2009
Suprascapular nerve entrapment can cause disabling shoulder pain. Suprascapular nerve release is often performed for compression neuropathy and to release pressure on the nerve associated with arthroscopic labral repair. This report describes a novel all-arthroscopic technique for decompression of the suprascapular nerve at the suprascapular notch or ...
