The importance of spinopelvic parameters in patients with lumbar disc lesions [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Orthopaedics, 2002
Using a special software program we measured spinopelvic parameters on digitised radiographs of the entire spine and the pelvis of 50 patients with lumbar disc herniation and compared these with the same measurements on 30 healthy subjects. In the disc hernia group the patients had a relatively straight spine in the sagittal plane.

Correlation between the Tuffier's Line and the Spinopelvic Parameters

open access: yesBlack Sea Journal of Health Science, 2023
Tuffier’s line (TL) is a horizontal line that connects the two superior iliac crests and is used to determine L4 and L5 vertebrae levels. Spinopelvic parameters have been gaining further importance in the diagnosis and treatment planning of spinal diseases. This study aims to reveal whether there is an interaction between TL and spinopelvic parameters.

Coronal and sagittal spinal alignment in lumbar disc herniation with scoliosis and trunk shift

open access: yesJournal of Orthopaedic Surgery and Research, 2019
Background To investigate the incidence of scoliosis and trunk shift in patients with LDH (lumbar disc herniation) and analyze the differences in spinopelvic alignment among patients with or without trunk shift and non-symptom controls.

Spinopelvic mobility is influenced by pre-existing contralateral hip arthroplasty: a matched-pair analysis in patients undergoing hip replacement

open access: yesJournal of Orthopaedic Surgery and Research, 2022
Background Spinopelvic mobility gained increased attention as a contributing factor for total hip arthroplasty (THA) instability. However, it is unknown how a pre-existing THA affects spinopelvic mobility.

Paradoxical spinopelvic motion: does global balance influence spinopelvic motion in total hip arthroplasty?

open access: yesBMC Musculoskeletal Disorders, 2021
Background Recent research has proposed a classification of spinopelvic stiffness according to pelvic spatial orientation for risk stratification in patients who undergo total hip arthroplasty (THA).

Association between posterior tibial slope and anatomic spinopelvic parameters: a retrospective cross-sectional study

open access: yesEuropean spine journal, 2023
Purpose Only a few publications considered the influence of the spinopelvic parameters on below-hip anatomy. There is a lack of evidence about the relationship between the anatomic spinopelvic parameters and the posterior tibial slope (PTS).

Evaluation of Spinopelvic Parameters in Patients with Different Grades of Intervertebral Disc Degeneration in Lumbosacral Spine vs Normal Asymptomatic Population: A Retrospective Observational Study

open access: yesJournal of Clinical and Diagnostic Research, 2023
Introduction: Spinopelvic malalignment causes continual backache. Intervertebral Disc Degeneration (IDD) is a leading cause of low backache. Understanding the relationship between spinopelvic parameters and IDD can help with better diagnosis and ...
