Taxonomic catalogue of the Spionidae (Annelida: Polychaeta) of the Grand Caribbean
Zootaxa, 2011The aim of this study was to provide a revised taxonomic catalogue of Spionidae species recorded from the Grand Caribbean. The names included were compiled from the checklists of Salazar-Vallejo (1996) and Perkins and Savage (1975). Names were revised and updated based on recent revisions.

Revision of Marenzelleria Mesnil, 1896 (Spionidae, Polychaeta)
Sarsia, 2004Marenzelleria is revised on the basis of material from the Arctic, North America, Europe and the Far East. Types of all species included in the genus are examined. Five species are registered. Marenzelleria neglecta sp. nov. is described from the coastal waters of the southern Baltic. Two species, M. arctia and M. wireni, occur in the Arctic, whereas M.

Reproduction and larval development of Marenzelleria viridis (Polychaeta: Spionidae)
Marine Biology, 1995The pelagic larvae of the polychaete Marenzelleria viridis (Verrill, 1873) are newcomers among the meroplankton of the Baltic Sea, where they sometimes achieve an abundance of up to 21x106 ind m-3 near the coast, especially in late autumn and even in winter.

Molecular analysis of the Pygospio elegans group of species (Annelida: Spionidae)
Zootaxa, 2016Pygospio elegans Claparède, 1863, the type species of the genus Pygospio, was originally described from Normandy, France, and later widely reported from boreal waters in the northern hemisphere. Sequence data of four gene fragments (2576 bp in total) of the mitochondrial 16S rDNA, nuclear 18S and 28S rDNA, and Histone 3 have shown that individuals from

A new Laubieriellus species (Annelida, Spionidae) from Western Australia
Zootaxa, 2018A new annelid species within the Prionospio- complex (Spionidae), Laubieriellus cacatua sp. nov., is described from material collected from the continental slope off the western margin of Australia. Laubieriellus cacatua sp. nov. is distinguished by having dorsal crests from chaetigers 6 to 11 and ventral crests on chaetigers 2 to 11.

New Prionospio and Laubieriellus (Annelida: Spionidae) species from Southeastern Brazil
Zootaxa, 2019Two new Prionospio species—Prionospio solisi sp. nov. and Prionospio nonatoi sp. nov. and a new Laubieriellus species—Laubieriellus decapitata sp. nov. are described from Espírito Santo Basin, Southeast Brazil. For both Prionospio species, branchial pattern differed from the genus diagnosis, which is therefore emended.

Palp morphology in two species of Prionospio (Polychaeta: Spionidae)
Hydrobiologia, 2003The palp morphology of Prionospio fallax Soderstrom, 1920 from Sweden and Prionospio cf. saldanha Day, 1961 from Thailand was examined with a scanning electron microscope. Prionospio fallax was also studied in vivo using light-microscopy. Both species have grooved feeding palps, adorned with up to five ciliary characters: frontal cilia, transverse ...

A New Species of the Spionidae (Polychaeta) with Asexual Reproduction Associated with Sponges
Zoologica Scripta, 1985Polydorella smurovi sp.n. is described from an underwater coral bank near the Dachlak Archipelago (Red Sea). This new species has alternating sexual and asexual (paratomy) reproduction, short caruncle, specialised broom‐like setae on segment 5 and capillary setae in the neuropodia of the same segment.
