Laonice (Polychaeta, Spionidae) in the Arctic and the North Atlantic
Sarsia, 2003Laonice Malmgren, 1867 species from the Arctic and the North Atlantic are revised. Existing types of five species recorded from the area are described. All available material has been used and cited. New approaches to the use of widely varying and size‐related numeric characters are put into practice.

Marine Biology, 1990The annual somatic production ofPrionospio caspersi Laubier was estimated, between July 1986 and 1987, at a sandy shallow-bottom station in the area facing the Po River Delta, Italy, where this species is one of the most abundant. Primary recruitment occurs in summer, and maturation of gametes the following spring.

Polydora and related genera (Polychaeta: Spionidae) from the Grand Caribbean region
Journal of Natural History, 2008The study of previously unidentified material of Spionidae from the Grand Caribbean region resulted in the discovery of five new species in four genera: Boccardia salazari sp. nov., Dipolydora anatentaculata sp. nov., D. contoyensis sp. nov., Polydora quintanarooensis sp. nov. and Pseudopolydora floridensis sp. nov.

Life History Patterns of Polychaete Species of the Family Spionidae
Journal of the Marine Biological Association of the United Kingdom, 1985The reproductive morphology and larval development in Spionidae has been dealt with extensively by Soderström (1920), Hannerz (1956), Orrhage (1964). Simon (1967), Blake (1969) and Rice (1980). The family shows a considerable variation in gamete morphology, modes of sperm transfer and types of larval development.

Two new palp characters were found on the two species of Dipolydora : randomly scattered motile cirri and glandular holes.
