Broadband additive spiral antenna
2017 Antenna Measurement Techniques Association Symposium (AMTA), 2017A novel low cost and high performance miniaturized broadband Additive Spiral Antenna (ASA) technology (patent pending) has been developed. Unlike other conventional spiral designs, this new spiral antenna leverages Additive Manufacturing (AM) 3D zig-zag shapes to achieve an efficient slow wave radiation structure for extending spiral's low frequency ...

A spiral antenna is a radiation element that radiates a circularly polarized (CP) wave over a wide frequency bandwidth. The spiral is often backed by a conducting plane to change the inherently bidirectional beam to a unidirectional one. The radiation pattern has been qualitatively and quantitatively investigated (Nakano, H. 1987; Nakano et al., 1988).

Four-Armed Spiral-Helix Antenna
IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters, 2012An antenna formed by the union of a four-armed, reflective-backed spiral antenna with a top-fed quadrifilar helix, operating over the 0.35-2.6-GHz band, is presented. The antenna features a novel dual-layering scheme that allows the modal impedance of the four-armed spiral to be greatly reduced while maintaining the desirable self-complementary ...

Square Spiral Microstrip Patch Antenna
2019 International Conference on Electrical, Communication, and Computer Engineering (ICECCE), 2019Our project describes the analysis and design of square spiral microstrip patch antenna for multi band frequencies. As compared with old conventional antennae, microstrip patch antennae have more advantages and better prospects. Such antennae are light-weighted, circularly polarized and can be easily fabricated.

Equiangular microstrip spiral antennas
IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium. 1995 Digest, 2002The input impedance and the broadside axial ratio of a perturbed equiangular microstrip spiral antennas are examined. With the perturbation (modification factor /spl delta/) on its shape, the broadside axial ratio of the equiangular spiral can be significantly reduced. A 21% 3-dB axial ratio bandwidth has been observed. The antenna input resistance can

The mathematical model of radiation characteristics of the sphero-conical helical antenna in the form of extending conductors is offered. This model allows not only to simplify an essentially calculation, but the analysis of similar structures. The results of theoretical and experimental research of the sphero-conical helical antenna are also discussed

Natural and metamaterial spiral antennas
2012 IEEE International Workshop on Antenna Technology (iWAT), 2012A low-profile cavity-backed spiral antenna with an absorbing strip exhibits wideband radiation characteristics. An EBG reflector is useful in designing a small spiral for medium frequency bandwidth operation. A modified EBG reflector contributes to mitigation of the partial deterioration of the antenna characteristics in a low-profile equiangular ...

Frequency-Reconfigurable Archimedean Spiral Antenna
IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters, 2013In this letter, a frequency-reconfigurable Archimedean spiral antenna is presented. The proposed antenna consists of a two-arm spiral fed by a coplanar waveguide (CPW) feeding line. A pair of meandered slotlines is implemented at both sides of the CPW-fed slot on the spiral antenna to introduce frequency reconfiguration.
