Ultra-wideband planar spiral antenna

The original ultra-wideband impedance transformer providing the required electromagnetic matching of the coaxial cable with the dual-arm spiral antenna is proposed. The calculated input reflection coefficient of the spiral antenna with transformer is less than −10dB within the frequency band from 10GHz to 110GHz.

A single-arm spiral antenna

An array consisting of four-by-four spiral antennas is constructed using the pair-element (PE) technique. The 3-dB axial ratio bandwidth is improved to 8.9% by the PE technique from 3.8% for an array without using the PE technique. The −14-dB return loss bandwidth is widened to 6.4% from 3.6%.

Single Wire Archimedian Spiral Antenna

IETE Journal of Research, 1969
The construction of a single wire unbalanced Archimedian spiral antenna is described. The experimentally observed characteristics of the antenna indicate that the antenna has a pattern and impedance bandwidth of approximately 1–5. The axial ratio of the radiation along the axis is constant (approximately 2 or less) over a frequency band of 1–2.
