Morphological Changes in Spiral Artery of the Mammalian Ovary with Age
Hormone Research, 1993Morphological changes which take place in ovarian arteries at different ages in human and monkey, were investigated by light microscopy, transmission electron microscopy and scanning electron microscopy. The ovarian arteries in both species were characterized by a spiral configuration throughout their course.

Multislice spiral computed tomography angiography of mesenteric arteries
The Lancet, 2001The introduction of multislice technology has improved and expanded the clinical applications of computed tomography angiography (CTA), and it is now possible to detect subtle vascular abnormalities. We optimised a high resolution CTA protocol to study the anatomy of mesenteric arteries with a multislice spiral CT scanner. We showed that multislice CTA

Coronary artery motion compensation in spiral CT
SPIE Proceedings, 2005Because of motion artifacts, spiral Computer Tomography (CT) is not presently a widely useful diagnostic tool in cardiac imaging. There are two time scales in CT data acquisition. The first is the time-scale of a single projection which is roughly a half millisecond.

The Concept of the Arch Window in the Spiral Switch of the Great Arteries
Pediatric Cardiology, 2016When the arterial switch operation includes the Lecompte maneuver, the arterial trunks are reconnected in parallel, rather than the spiral fashion observed in the normal heart. Thus, although the ventriculo-arterial connections are hemodynamically corrected, the anatomic arrangement cannot be considered normal.

An experience using spiral vein graft as arterial substitute
The Japanese Journal of Surgery, 1981In two patients wih aneurysmal changes due to arteriosclerosis in the axillary and the subclavian artery respectively, spiral vein grafts were used in a substitute for vascular reconstruction. After resection of the aneurysm, these vein grafts resulted in an excellent adaptation to the recipient vessel.

A Pictorial Review of Coronary Artery Anatomy on Spiral CT
Chest, 2000Coronary artery calcification quantification (scoring) has been done with electron beam CT (EBCT), but is now being done with spiral or helical CT. Many radiologists and cardiologists who do not have EBCT but do have access to spiral CT will now be able to do coronary artery calcification scoring, and will now need to know the spiral CT appearance of ...

Trophoblast Invasion: Remodelling of Spiral Arteries and Beyond
2018Despite massive scientific and clinical efforts, the etiology of preeclampsia remains a mystery. Quite a variety of different hypotheses has been developed and this is ongoing, but none of them has been able to explain the symptoms of the different preeclampsia subtypes satisfactorily.
