A Solution to Remove Railway Track Discontinuities at Spiral Junctions [PDF]
International Journal of Mechanical Engineering and Applications, 2020To design railway track layouts, engineers use tangent and circle segments. To maintain curvature and bank angle continuities between flat straight lines, with zero curvature, and banked circles, they use spiral segments where curvature and bank angle vary linearly as function of distance.

Barriers to Transnational Passenger Rail Services in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina – A Qualitative Perspective [PDF]
Promet (Zagreb), 2021Railway infrastructures and services in the countries of former Yugoslavia have been in a downward spiral since the early 1990s. There have been scattered investments to lift services up to appealing levels after the war, but a continuous downward trend ...

Around seven decades river course shifting and bank erosion susceptibility of river Mujnai
River, Volume 1, Issue 2, Page 221-239, November 2022., 2022Abstract River bank erosion is a destructive fluvio‐hydrological hazard particularly inhabited flood plain of the dynamic Himalayan foreland basin. Every year during monsoonal months, morphology of the landscape is continuously modifying through the dynamic river system.

New Cubic Trigonometric Bezier-Like Functions with Shape Parameter: Curvature and Its Spiral Segment
Journal of Mathematics, 2021This work presents the new cubic trigonometric Bézier-type functions with shape parameter. Basis functions and the curve satisfy all properties of classical Bézier curve-like partition of unity, symmetric property, linear independent, geometric ...

Abstract A novel DC‐Excited Flux‐Switching Linear Motor (DC‐FSLM) is investigated in this paper, where a simple secondary is used as the machine stator. The phases and excitation windings are placed on the primary, which contributes to a low‐cost and simple structure linear motor with acceptable dynamic performance.

Subculture wars: The struggle for the vape industry
The British Journal of Sociology, Volume 74, Issue 1, Page 3-16, January 2023., 2023Abstract Drawing on a 2‐year study, I argue that the UK vape industry is engaged in a classificatory struggle between a subcultural industry and its “other”, the mainstream industry. I build on Thornton's analysis of club culture to characterize the subcultural vape industry as a community of taste built round a masculine aesthetic and a commitment to ...
