Smart REASSURED Sensors via Machine‐Augmented Printable On‐Paper Arrays

open access: yesAdvanced Sensor Research, EarlyView.
This perspective highlights the emerging role of pattern‐recognition, printable on‐paper sensor arrays for intelligent PoC diagnostics. It discusses how paper's inherent limitations can be overcome through surface modification and scalable printing, and how machine‐learning analysis of cross‐reactive arrays enables multiplexed, low‐cost, and REASSURED ...

The metaphor of light embedded in the Johannine prologue, Part 1: The Light before the incarnation

open access: yesIn die Skriflig, 2013
This is the first of two articles on how the Fourth Evangelist has ingeniously embedded the light metaphor in the prologue of the Fourth Gospel. The prologue is replete with this metaphor.

Bacteriophage‐Mimetic DNA Origami Needle for Targeted Membrane Penetration and Cytosolic Cargo Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We designed a synthetic DNA origami needle‐like structure inspired by bacteriophages for targeted drug delivery. Functionalized with trastuzumab antibodies, cholesterol, and dyes, it selectively targets SKBR3 cancer cells. A glutathione‐triggered dye payload enables controlled release, and delivery is verified using confocal microscopy and live cell ...

Barriers and facilitators to self-management in people with back-related leg pain: a qualitative secondary analysis

open access: yesChiropractic & Manual Therapies
Background Back related leg pain (BRLP) is a problematic subset of low back pain, leading to greater pain, loss of function and health related care costs.

Mapping the Non‐Canonical Splicing Variants: Decrypting the Hidden Genetic Architecture of Idiopathic Male Infertility

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study highlights the significance of non‐canonical splicing variants in male infertility, a factor often overlooked during the analysis of high‐throughput sequencing data. Incorporating the non‐canonical splicing variants prioritization in the genetic analysis pipeline will increase the genetic diagnosis of patients with male infertility ...

Schism, syncretism and politics: Derived and implied social model in the self-definition of early Christian orthodoxy

open access: yesHTS Teologiese Studies/Theological Studies, 2019
The first 400 years of Christianity posed an intricate scenario of social dynamics. The interplay of these social dynamics or catalysts analogous to time perceivably conceived the political-religious establishment that then forged orthodoxy.

DLP 4D Printing of Programmable Molecularly‐Engineered Liquid Crystal Elastomer Actuators

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We introduce an original and versatile approach for printing liquid crystal elastomers that exhibit reversible shape morphing using digital light processing. 3D‐tructures are printed in a partially cured state, mechanically programmed, and then fully crosslinked to fix molecular alignment.

Nicaea as political orthodoxy: Imperial Christianity versus episcopal polities

open access: yesHTS Teologiese Studies/Theological Studies, 2019
Fourth-century Christianity and the Council of Nicaea have continually been read as a Constantinian narrative. The dominancy of imperial Christianity has been a consequent feature of the established narrative regarding the events within early ...

Leucine‐Dependent SLC7A5–PGAM5 Interaction Promotes Advanced Atherosclerosis Through Hindering Mitochondrial Function of Macrophages

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Higher plasma leucine is associated with increased risk of new‐onset myocardial infarction. Leucine deprivation alleviates advanced atherosclerosis in mice. Tumor‐induced leucine deprivation reprograms macrophage metabolism and increases CD5Lhi macrophages in mouse plaques. Mechanistically, leucine deficiency reduced SLC7A5‐PGAM5 binding in macrophages,
