Survival after first relapse in marginal zone lymphomas: Prospective data from the international observational NF10 study

open access: yesBritish Journal of Haematology, EarlyView.
Summary While marginal zone lymphoma (MZL) is generally indolent, outcomes following relapse remain poorly defined. This study utilized the indolent Non Follicular 10 (NF10) prospective database to characterize survival and identify prognostic drivers in patients failing initial systemic therapy. The study analysed 122 patients with relapsed MZL.

p53 abnormalities in splenic lymphoma with villous lymphocytes

open access: yes, 2001
The incidence and role of p53 abnormalities have not been reported in splenic lymphoma with villous lymphocytes (SLVL), the leukemic counterpart of splenic marginal zone lymphoma.

Evidence That the Protein Phosphatase Activity of PTEN Contributes to Embryonic Development and Tumor Suppression

open access: yesCancer Science, EarlyView.
Mice expressing only mutant PTEN Y138L, a protein which shows normal suppression of cellular AKT yet lacks protein phosphatase activity, die in utero, and heterozygous mice display a range of tumors. This indicates both the lipid and protein phosphatase activities of PTEN work together for normal tumor suppression and embryonic development.

Concomitant Polycythemia Vera and Primary Splenic Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma Complicated by Gastrosplenic Fistula: A Case Report

open access: yesJournal of Investigative Medicine High Impact Case Reports
Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is the most prevalent and aggressive subtype of non-Hodgkin lymphoma comprising 30% to 40% of cases. While DLBCL frequently arises in the lymph nodes, up to 40% of cases originate in extranodal tissues.

Endoscopic Visualization of a Jejuno-Colonic Fistula in a Case of Monomorphic Epitheliotropic Intestinal T-Cell Lymphoma. [PDF]

open access: yesDEN Open
Monomorphic epitheliotropic intestinal T‐cell lymphoma (MEITL) rarely presents with gastrointestinal fistula formation. A rare case of MEITL is identified in an elderly woman with marked weight loss and hypoalbuminemia, in whom a jejunocolic fistula is directly visualized endoscopically.

Eosinophilia and Hypereosinophilia: A Practical Approach to Navigating a Broad Differential Diagnosis

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Haematology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Eosinophilia, defined as an absolute eosinophil count (AEC) of ≥ 0.5 × 109/L, is a frequently encountered finding with a vast spectrum of potential underlying etiologies. Hypereosinophilia (HE) is defined as AEC > 1.5 × 109/L and may become life‐threatening when eosinophil‐induced organ damage occurs, defining the hypereosinophilic syndrome ...

A guide to transcriptional cyclin‐dependent kinases in cancer

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
Transcriptional cyclin‐dependent‐kinases (tCDKs) facilitate gene expression by promoting RNA polymerase II (RNAPII) progression through discrete phases of the transcription cycle. Aberrant tCDK activity is detectable in different human cancers, thereby contributing to de‐regulated gene expression programs that drive oncogenic phenotypes.
