Hand-assisted laparoscopic approach for the treatment of gastrosplenic fistula: A case report and review of the literature

open access: yesLaparoscopic, Endoscopic and Robotic Surgery, 2020
Gastrosplenic fistula is a rare complication of gastric or splenic lymphoma. Here we report the case of a 48 years old man who developed a gastrosplenic fistula secondary to splenic diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, successfully managed with hand-assisted ...

Diffuse Large B cell Lymphoma with Primary Spleen Involvement: Report of Three Cases

open access: yesMedicine Science, 2014
The spleen is the primary organ of lymphoma in only 1–2 % of all lymphoma patients. We presented three cases of primary splenic involvement of lymphoma that were treated.

Primary Splenic Lymphoma with Splenic Hilar Lymphadenopathy

open access: yesClinical Ultrasound, 2022
Splenic lymphoma can occur as a primary or secondary malignancy, but the latter form is more common. Primary splenic lymphoma is defined as lymphomatous involvement of the spleen with or without splenic hilar lymphadenopathy. It can present as splenomegaly with homogenous echogenicity without a focal lesion, a diffuse infiltrative lesion with miliary ...

Histopathological audit of splenectomies received at a cancer hospital

open access: yesIndian Journal of Pathology and Microbiology, 2011
Background: There are few studies in the literature studying the yield of the diagnostic splenectomy in a suspicious lymphoma case. Moreover, their relevance is limited owing to low number of cases, the use of selection criteria, and the lack of modern ...

Splenic lymphoma with villous lymphocytes

open access: yesIndian Journal of Pathology and Microbiology, 2008
Splenic lymphoma with villous lymphocytes (SLVL) is a rare disorder that comprises less than 1% of lymphoid neoplasms. It is the leukemic counterpart of splenic marginal zone lymphoma (SMZL) and is characterized by splenomegaly, often with no lymphadenopathy, moderate lymphocytosis and villous lymphocytes on peripheral blood smear.

Primary Splenic Lymphoma in a Horse.

open access: yesJournal of Veterinary Medical Science, 1994
A well-demarcated solitary splenic mass (20 x 20 x 15 cm in size) containing hemorrhagic and necrotic foci was observed in a 4-year-old Thoroughbred stallion. Histologically, the mass consisted of lymphoma cells of the diffuse large non-cleaved type, with a high mitotic index and scattered macrophages that formed a starry sky pattern.

CD5 expression identifies a subset of splenic marginal zone lymphomas with higher lymphocytosis: a clinico-pathological, cytogenetic and molecular study of 24 cases

open access: yesHaematologica, 2010
Background Classically, splenic marginal zone B-cell lymphoma is characterized by the absence of CD5 expression. Cases of apparent splenic marginal zone B-cell lymphoma showing CD5 expression, as diagnosed by blood studies, have been described; however ...

Molecular Cytogenetic Approach to the Diagnosis of Splenic Lymphoma: A Case Report of Blastoid Mantle Cell Lymphoma

open access: yes, 2003
A 69-year-old woman was admitted to hospital due to abdominal pain. An enlarged spleen was detected and extirpated. Histological examination and FACS analysis could not clearly differentiate between a splenic marginal zone lymphoma and a mantle cell ...
