Spleen preserving laparoscopic distal pancreatectomy with segmental resection of splenic artery in a solid pseudo papillary tumor of the pancreas [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Laparoscopic distal pancreatectomy is suitable for benign and premalignant neoplasms located in the body and tail of the pancreas. In addition, spleen-preservation following distal pancreatectomy for benign or low-grade malignant disease is known to be ...

Burnt out benign splenic cyst mimicking intra-abdominal malignancy - case report and review of literature.pdf [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
The spleen performs important immunological function. Benign cysts, neoplasms and abscesses are identifiable cystic lesions of the spleen. Splenic cysts are very rare, and consist of Type 1 (parasitic) and Type 11 (non-parasitic) cysts. Very few cases of

Targeting UXS1‐Dependent Glucuronate Detoxification Potentiates Metformin's Anti‐Tumor Efficacy in Lung Adenocarcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals that metformin promotes glucuronic acid metabolism in lung adenocarcinoma by activating UGDH S476 phosphorylation and enhancing the conversion of UDPG to UDPGA based on metabolomics analysis. Through compound virtual screening, it is found that plantainoside targeting UGDH downstream UXS1 leads to UDPGA toxicity accumulation ...

Primary Splenic Pleomorphic Liposarcoma in a Bitch [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
Background: Liposarcoma is a malignant neoplasm of lipoblasts with low incidence in dogs, representing 1.7% of neoplasms diagnosed in the spleen. In veterinary medicine, this neoplasm is classified morphologically into the myxoid, well-differentiated ...

PRMT1‐Mediated LDHA Methylation Drives STAT3 Lactylation to Orchestrate Intestinal Inflammation and Tumorigenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies an immunometabolic axis wherein SAM‐driven PRMT1 methylates LDHA, enhancing its activity. The resultant lactate induces STAT3 K709 lactylation, which stabilizes an active conformation to promote STAT3 phosphorylation and IL‐10 expression.

Splenic Artery Aneurysm Associated With Anatomic Variations In Origin [aneurisma De Artéria Esplênica Associado A Uma Variação Anatômica Na Origem] [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Splenic artery aneurysm was first described by Beaussier in 1770, and the first successful treatment was reported by McLeod in 1940. The splenic artery aneurysm is considered the most common splanchnic site for aneurysm formation, affecting 46 to 60% of ...

RNA Helicase DDX21 Controls CD4+ T Cell Proliferation and Promotes Inflammatory Bowel Disease via Translational Control

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is characterized by dysregulated T cell responses. RNA helicases, including DExD‐box helicase 21 (DDX21), are pivotal in RNA metabolism, but their role in T cell‐mediated pathology during IBD remains unclear. Here, we demonstrate that DDX21 expression in CD4+ T cells correlates with cell cycle and translation ...

PET Imaging of Cardiac Inflammation in Viral Myocarditis Using a DPP4‐Targeted Probe

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study describes a DPP4‐targeted PET probe for imaging myocardial inflammation by selectively targeting activated immune cells. Derived from the clinically approved small‐molecule inhibitor linagliptin, the probe demonstrates favorable biodistribution with specific cardiac uptake in myocarditis.

miR-191 downregulation plays a role in thyroid follicular tumors through CDK6 targeting [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
miR-191 expression is frequently altered in several neoplasias, being upregulated in some, such as pancreatic, colon, lung and prostate carinomas, and downregulated in others, such as severe medulloblastomas and melanomas.
