Tunable Enhancement of T Cell Expansion Through Modulation of Stiffness and Adhesion Receptor Engagement in an Engineered Hydrogel Platform

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
We develop a hydrogel scaffold with controlled substrate stiffness and ligand functionalization for cell culture. Stiff substrates presenting CD3/CD28/CD2 ligands induce 2000‐fold expansion of T cells; this is 68% greater than the clinical standard (Dynabeads) and the first hydrogel capable of large‐scale expansion. Although expanding at a lower yield,

Kelvin Probe Force Microscopy in Bionanotechnology: Current Advances and Future Perspectives

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Kelvin probe force microscopy (KPFM) enables the nanoscale mapping of electrostatic surface potentials. While widely applied in materials science, its use in biological systems remains emerging. This review presents recent advances in KPFM applied to biological samples and provides a critical perspective on current limitations and future directions for

Marginal zone-related neoplasms of splenic and nodal origin.

open access: yesHaematologica, 2003
The marginal zone is an anatomically distinct B-cell compartment of lymphoid tissue with an abundant antigenic influx. Among marginal zone-derived lymphomas the WHO classification listed, in addition to extranodal marginal zone B-cell lymphoma of MALT type, two other marginal zone B-cell neoplasms: splenic marginal zone B-cell lymphoma (+/- villous ...

Long-read sequencing unmasks a cryptic three-way translocation resulting in an ETV6::PDGFRB fusion

open access: yesMolecular Cytogenetics
Background Myeloid/Lymphoid Neoplasms (MLN) with eosinophilia and PDGFRB rearrangements are rare but distinct hematologic malignancies driven by the constitutive activation of the PDGFRB tyrosine kinase through gene fusions. These neoplasms are sensitive

Intrasplenic metastasis of appendiceal low-grade mucinous neoplasm – A case report and review of the literature

open access: yesCurrent Problems in Cancer: Case Reports
Low-grade appendiceal mucinous neoplasms (LAMNs) may lead to pseudomyxoma peritonei and require specialized surgical therapy. By pathological definition, these tumor entities exhibit neither invasive growth nor develop systemic or lymph node metastases ...

Histological distribution and ultrastructure of exocrine pancreas in Indian major carp (Labeo rohita Ham.) and its alteration in aflatoxicosis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
The distribution pattern of exocrine pancreas in Labeo rohita besides its general location along the course of intestinal mesentery was studied. It is evenly distributed within the liver around portal vessels and also within the spleen near a blood ...

High‐Throughput In Vivo Screening Using Barcoded mRNA Identifies Lipid Nanoparticles With Extrahepatic Tropism for In Situ Immunoengineering

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A high‐throughput in vivo mRNA LNP screening platform is developed and employed to screen a large library of 122 mRNA LNPs in vivo for delivery to immune, stromal, and parenchymal cells, identifying promising LNP candidates. A novel small particle flow cytometry‐based protein adsorption analysis method is utilized to interrogate protein corona ...

Liquid Metal Microrobots for Magnetically Guided Transvascular Navigation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Liquid metal‐based microrobots combine magnetic steering, intrinsic X‐ray visibility and softness, to navigate blood vessels even against flow. Under clinically relevant magnetic fields, liquid metal microrobots roll along vessel walls, cross endothelial barriers, and accumulate in target tissues.
