Alignment and Position Sensors Based on Split Ring Resonators [PDF]

open access: yesSensors, 2012
In this paper compact alignment and position sensors based on coplanar waveguide (CPW) transmission lines loaded with split ring resonators (SRRs) are proposed. The structure consists of a folded CPW loaded with two SRRs tuned at different frequencies to detect both the lack of alignment and the two-dimensional linear displacement magnitude.

Cerebral Amyloid Angiopathy Is Associated With Higher R2 Relaxation Rate: An MRI and Pathology Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA) involves β‐amyloid deposition in the walls of cortical and leptomeningeal small vessels. Transverse relaxation rate (R2) is a major source of contrast in MRI. This study tested the hypothesis that CAA is associated with R2, extracted the spatial pattern of CAA‐related R2 abnormalities, and evaluated ...

Enhanced radiation characteristics of regular dodecagon split ring resonator (D-SRR)-based microstrip patch antenna employing dielectric superstrate for THz applications

open access: yesJournal of Engineering and Applied Science, 2022
In a world where communication requires ever faster data transmission capable of transmitting high speeds. In order to reach and transmit this high speed, it is necessary to increase the frequency that carries the information.

All-Resonant Control of Superconducting Resonators [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
An all-resonant method is proposed to control the quantum state of superconducting resonators. This approach uses a tunable artificial atom linearly coupled to resonators, and allows for efficient routes to Fock state synthesis, qudit logic operations, and synthesis of NOON states.

Apex-angle-dependent resonances in triangular split-ring resonators [PDF]

open access: yesApplied Physics A, 2016
Along with other frequency selective structures [1] (circles and squares), triangular split-ring resonators (TSRRs) only allow frequencies near the center resonant frequency to propagate. Further, TSRRs are attractive due to their small surface area [2], comparatively, and large quality factors (Q) factors as previously investigated by Gay-Balmaz, et ...

Correspondence of MRI and nTMS With EDSS in Multiple Sclerosis: Longitudinal Follow‐Up Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives Considering the characteristics of multiple sclerosis (MS) disease and its impact on motor disability, this study aims to assess the functional integrity of the corticospinal tract by examining motor evoked potentials (MEPs), Expanded Disability Status Scale (EDSS) scores, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) lesion counts, and ...

Deep subwavelength split ring neck acoustic resonator

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2019
Here, a novel acoustic resonator is proposed, realizing deep sub-wavelength form. An embedded split ring neck configuration is adopted, which makes the acoustic resonator being flat while lowering the acoustic resonance frequency. This resonant frequency

Selective active resonance tuning for multi-mode nonlinear photonic cavities [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
Resonant enhancement of nonlinear photonic processes is critical for the scalability of applications such as long-distance entanglement generation. To implement nonlinear resonant enhancement, multiple resonator modes must be individually tuned onto a precise set of process wavelengths, which requires multiple linearly-independent tuning methods. Using

Planar Resonators for Metamaterials [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
This paper presents the results of an investigation into a combination of electric and magnetic planar resonators in order to design the building element of a volumetric metamaterial showing simultaneously negative electric and magnetic polarizabilities ...

Spinal Cord Abnormalities in Early Pediatric Multiple Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Spinal cord lesions and atrophy in the cervical region are common in adult multiple sclerosis (MS) and correlate with disability. Whether similar abnormalities occur in pediatric MS patients is largely unknown. Clinical and MRI evaluations were performed in 38 pediatric MS patients and 13 healthy controls (HC).
