Spectroscopy of Individual Split-Ring Resonators

Frontiers in Optics 2008/Laser Science XXIV/Plasmonics and Metamaterials/Optical Fabrication and Testing, 2008
We measure the absolute extinction cross-section spectrum of the magnetic resonance of individual split-ring resonators by a modulation technique. The experimental data are in excellent agreement with numerical calculations.

Supershaped complementary split-ring resonators

2017 USNC-URSI Radio Science Meeting (Joint with AP-S Symposium), 2017
This paper investigates the possibility of using complementary split ring resonators based on Gielis transformation as basic elements for the design of microwave filters implemented in planar technology. From the electromagnetic simulation of these structures, suitable equivalent circuit models are extracted and analyzed.

Plasmonic resonances in hexagonal split-ring resonator

2017 International Conference on Electrical, Computer and Communication Engineering (ECCE), 2017
A nanoscale resonator is designed using a hexagonal split ring inside two metal-insulator-metal (MIM) waveguides. The split angle defined by the angular position of the split referring to the axis of the MIM waveguide is varied and thus the transmission properties as well as different plasmonic resonance modes have been investigated by numerical ...

Far-Infrared Resonance in Split Ring Resonators

Japanese Journal of Applied Physics, 2004
We experimentally investigated the resonance effect of planar metallic split ring resonators (SRRs) in the far-infrared region (FIR) (~10.6 µm). Experimental results indicated that they exhibit resonance around 10.6 µm, implying negative permeability in the FIR region. Furthermore, the ratio of effective dimensions of the SRR cell and the wavelength of

Resonances of split-ring resonator metamaterials in the near infrared

Applied Physics B, 2006
We study the spectral response of optical metamaterials consisting of gold split-ring resonators. We utilize reflection spectroscopy in the near infrared region at normal incidence in the experiments. Our theoretical modeling is based on rigorous diffraction theory.

Split Ring Resonators and Related Topologies

2009
In 1852, W. Weber invoked Faraday’s law to suggest that natural diamagnetism could be produced by currents induced in microscopic conducting closed loops, which would be present inside matter. Spirals are well-known designs, widely used in planar microwave circuits as small-size inductors and resonators. However, spirals are low-symmetry structures and,

Improved shield design for split-ring resonator [PDF]

open access: possible2015 Third International Conference on Technological Advances in Electrical, Electronics and Computer Engineering (TAEECE), 2015
Shield or cavity around split-ring resonators is used for enhancing its output performance. Shield parameters which influence resonator performance include dimensions, material, electrical and mechanical properties. Performance is generally measured in terms of quality factor and resonant frequency.

Analysis of hexagonal Split Ring Resonator

2016 Progress in Electromagnetic Research Symposium (PIERS), 2016
Split Ring Resonator (SRR) is found to be an effective filter at microwave frequencies. Different geometries of SRR can be designed to provide filter characteristics in frequency spectrum. In this paper a novel hexagonal SRR which provides band pass characteristics is presented.

Light-controllable split-ring resonators

2012 42nd European Microwave Conference, 2012
The paper presents a new approach for designing electromagnetic metamaterials which can be controlled by an external light source. The design of light-tunable split-ring resonators loaded by a varactor diode and biased by a photodiode operating in photovoltaic mode is proposed.

The polarizability matrix of split-ring resonators

Moscow University Physics Bulletin, 2011
The resonance behavior of electric and magnetic dipole moment amplitudes that are induced in metallic nanoparticles by the scattering of incident light was obtained by numerical simulation. For a split-ring resonator a full set of polarizability matrix components, including magnetoelectric coupling parameters (bianisotropy), were calculated.
