Excitation of Asymmetric Resonance with Symmetric Split-Ring Resonator [PDF]
In this paper, a new approach to excite sharp asymmetric resonances using a single completely symmetric split-ring resonator (SRR) inside a rectangular waveguide is proposed. The method is based on an asymmetry in the excitation of a symmetric split-ring resonator by placing it away from the center of the waveguide along its horizontal axis. In turn, a

Split-Ring Resonator Based Sensor for the Detection of Amino Acids in Liquids [PDF]
Amino acids belong to the most important compounds for life. They are structural components of proteins and required for growth and maintenance of cells. Essential amino acids cannot be produced by the organism and must be ingested through the nutrition.

Spectral Imaging of Individual Split-Ring Resonators [PDF]
We report on spectral imaging within individual silver split-ring resonators (SRRs) operating in the near infrared-visible range. We classified the optical eigenmodes from the measurement of their energies and nanometer scale spatial distributions. They are plasmonic standing waves that show great similarities with that of nanoantennas.

Multiresonant Split Ring Resonator with Meandered Strips [PDF]
A multiresonant split ring resonator (SRR) composed of two circular‐shaped meandered strips is presented. Resonances are first analyzed by means of eigenmodes computation and field mapping. It is shown that a resonance can emerge from a standing wave taking place in each slot produced by a meandered strip.

Dynamically tunable terahertz metamaterial sensor based on metal–graphene hybrid structural unit
By verifying the electromagnetic response characteristics of graphene in the low terahertz (THz) band, a terahertz metamaterial sensor is proposed. The unit cell of the metamaterial sensor is a split ring resonator nested square ring resonator. The split
