Rheology of Weakly Vibrated Granular Media [PDF]
We probe the rheology of weakly vibrated granular flows as function of flow rate, vibration strength and pressure by performing experiments in a vertically vibrated split-bottom shear cell.

Direct Torque Control Schemes for Split-Phase Induction Machine
In this paper, DTC (direct torque control) algorithms for split-phase induction machine (SPIM) are established. SPIM has two sets of three-phase stator windings, with a shift of thirty electrical degrees between them. The significant contributions of the present work are: a) two new methods of DTC technique for SPIM are developed.

Split Torque Gearboxes: Requirements, Performance and Applications
Although the simplest gear systems are those with just one gear engagement area between a pair of gears, alternatives are available for applications where it is necessary to transmit a very high torque in a very small space. One option to increase power density is to use the split torque systems that were mainly developed for the aviation industry ...
