Bilateral SERS‐Microneedle Patch for Co‐Diagnosis of Diabetes Mellitus and Tuberculosis Comorbidity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Our study introduced a U@mP@Au‐mediated bilateral SERS‐microneedle patch for analyzing glucose levels from ISF and sensitively detecting TB biomarkers from sputum, respectively. This integrated dual‐analyte detecting platform can be used for co‐diagnosis of diabetes mellitus (DM) and tuberculosis (TB) comorbidity, which was demonstrated in ex vivo ...

Senescent Cell Derived Artificial Vesicle‐Based Senolytic Sonovaccine Platform with Augmented Lymph Node Delivery and Antigen Cross‐Presentation Efficacy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A senolytic sonovaccine platform (SenoVac) is developed, in which senescent cell‐derived vesicles serve as broad senescent cell antigen reservior. The “2‐step” click chemistry strategy for effective lymph node delivery, and ultrasound‐triggered endosomal escape to boost cross‐presentation, ensures efficient senescent cell clearance and disease ...

Transient Interphase Microtubules Appear in Differentiating Sponge Cells

open access: yesCells
Microtubules are an indispensable component of all eukaryotic cells due to their role in mitotic spindle formation, yet their organization and number can vary greatly in the interphase.

Feeding ecology of coral reef sponges [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Sponges are ubiquitous in coral reefs and in terms of biomass they are often second to corals. Inside coral reef crevices sponges are the dominant organisms, providing up to 60% of the living coelobite cover.

Wnt signaling and polarity in freshwater sponges

open access: yes, 2018
Background: The Wnt signaling pathway is uniquely metazoan and used in many processes during development, including the formation of polarity and body axes.

Photonic‐Enabled Energy‐Efficient Transparent Neuromorphic Computing Devices: A Review

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Transparent photonic neuromorphic computing devices merge optics and brain‐inspired computing to overcome von Neumann bottlenecks with ultrafast, low‐energy processing. By exploiting transparent oxides, 2D materials, phase‐change materials, and hybrid heterostructures, these platforms enable photonic synapses, memory, and logic for see‐through edge ...

Sponges associated with Antarctic stylasterids (Cnidaria, Hydrozoa) from the deep Ross Sea: what’s new?

open access: yes, 2023
In 2017, during the XXXII Antarctic campaign on board R/V Italica, in the context of the PNRA research project GRACEFUL (PNRA16_00069), several deep (670-1022 m) remotely operated vehicle (ROV) explorations in the Ross Sea documented wide areas of ...

A Folded, Structure‐Integrated Bimodal Sensor Enabling Non‐Contact and Tactile Perception for Intelligent Robots

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A foldable bimodal sensor integrates a triboelectric nanogenerator and graphene piezoresistive effect into a monolithic laser‐induced graphene film. It enables synchronous non‐contact and tactile perception, achieving a distance of 110 mm, a sensitivity of 11.2 kPa−1, and a response time of 10 ms.

Diversity and Activity of Bacteria Cultured from a Cup—The Sponge Calyx nicaeensis

open access: yesMarine Drugs
Marine sponges are well-known for hosting rich microbial communities. Sponges are the most prolific source of marine bioactive compounds, which are frequently synthesized by their associated microbiota. Calyx nicaeensis is an endemic Mediterranean sponge

New records of sponges associated with siliquariid molluscs from the Indo-Pacific Ocean

open access: yes, 2023
Siliquariidae family represents a small group of Caenogastropoda molluscs that can be found fixed on hard substrates or, as in the genus Tenagodus Guettard, 1770, obligatorily dwelling within the body of sponges of the class Demospongiae.
