Spontaneous Combustion in Coals - A Panacea

Journal of the Geological Society of India, 2004
Abstract Lower Gondwana coal samples from the Ib-valley, the Talcher coalfield and the Raniganj coalfield were compared with the Tertiary coals of Upper Assam, Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh by their chemical data in relation to crossing point temperature, petrography and rank.

The Development of Microporous in Coal by Spontaneous Combustion

Advanced Materials Research, 2014
Basing on coal and the oxygen evolving complex theory, the method of study on the spontaneous combustion by analysis the microporous in coal has been established in this article. By the electron microscope, the process of microporous volume changeing with the temperature gradually increased is observed.

Preparation of complex physicochemical synergistic inhibitors and study on inhibition of spontaneous combustion of coal

International Journal of Coal Preparation and Utilization
To efficiently isolate oxygen and block free radical reactions, sodium alginate (SA), sodium polyacrylate (PAAS), attapulgite (ATP), and melatonin (MLT) were selected to develop an oxygen-insulating physicochemical synergistic inhibitor.

Spontaneous combustion in beds of coal particles

Symposium (International) on Combustion, 1989
This paper describes a simple experimental technique to determine the ignition temperature of various cylinder-shaped beds (diameter 17–160 mm, height 10–80 mm) of a South African coal and it reports the application of thermal ignition models in interpreting and extrapolating the small scale results.

Spontaneous combustion of coal: a Mössbauer approach

Fuel, 1992
Abstract A 57 Fe Mossbauer spectroscopic study was carried out at 300 K to study the self-combustion of coal. Hyperfine parameters such as isomer shift, quadrupole splitting and the total internal magnetic field of 57 Fe nuclei were used to identify various iron-bearing species during different stages of the process.

Effect of coalification on spontaneous combustion of coals

International Journal of Coal Geology, 1990
Abstract A preliminary survey of the frequency of occurrence of fire due to spontaneous combustion in the different seams of the Raniganj Coalfield showed the possibility of a relationship between coalification and spontaneous combustion of coals. In this context, a systematic study was undertaken. For the purpose of this investigation, samples were

Experimental research on gel-stabilized foam designed to prevent and control spontaneous combustion of coal

Fuel, 2019
The gel-stabilized foam was prepared successfully by forming gel structure in the bubble film using thickening agent (TA) and crosslinking agent (CLA). The viscosity characteristic, foamability, stability, and microstructure of gel-stabilized foam were ...

Theories on Spontaneous Combustion of Coal

1993
