Opportunities of Semiconducting Oxide Nanostructures as Advanced Luminescent Materials in Photonics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The review discusses the challenges of wide and ultrawide bandgap semiconducting oxides as a suitable material platform for photonics. They offer great versatility in terms of tuning microstructure, native defects, doping, anisotropy, and micro‐ and nano‐structuring. The review focuses on their light emission, light‐confinement in optical cavities, and

POM‐Based Water Splitting Catalyst Under Acid Conditions Driven by Its Assembly on Carbon Nanotubes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A newly‐engineered POM‐based electrocatalyst incorporating non‐innocent counter cations exhibits fast kinetics for either the OER or HER under strongly acidic conditions (1 m H2SO4), depending on whether it is assembled on carbon nanotubes (1@CNT) or physically mixed with them (1/CNT). In water‐splitting tests using a two‐electrode setup, these systems

Controllable spontaneous emission spectrum in an artificial giant atom: Dark lines and bound states

open access: yesPhysical Review Research
We study the spontaneous emission spectra of a few-level giant atom strongly coupled to a one-dimensional waveguide by employing variational and analytical approaches, which are beyond the rotating-wave approximation and the Markovian approximation.

Quantum Interference of Spontaneous Emission and Coherent Population Trapping for a Quantum Emitter Embedded Within a Two-Dimensional Photonic Crystal

open access: yesPhotonics
We investigate the phenomenon of quantum interference in spontaneous emission pathways for a quantum emitter embedded in a two-dimensional photonic crystal composed of a square lattice of dielectric cylindrical rods.

A Cu‐Based Near‐IR Active MOF with an Ion‐Pair Guest Exhibiting Versatile and Selective Gas‐Solid Reactivity

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The new Cu‐containing MOF (Me2NH2)(CuICl2)@[Cu4(INA)4Cl2O]·1.5dmf (3) contains a cation and an anion as guests and shows UV‐near‐mid‐IR absorption and near‐IR emission. MOF 3 shows gas‐solid reactivity in the presence of NH3 and HCOOH to yield two new 3D MOF.

Coherent and spontaneous emission in the quantum free electron laser

open access: yes, 2012
We present an analysis of quantum free electron laser (QFEL) dynamics including the effects of spontaneous emission. The effects of spontaneous emission are undesirable for coherent short-wave generation using FELs and have been shown in previous studies

Role of the Recombination Zone in Organic Light‐Emitting Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review summarizes the critical role of the recombination zone in organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs). We highlight that broadening the recombination zone in OLEDs based on emissive layers with balanced charge transport and high photoluminescence quantum yields provides a promising route toward achieving both long operational lifetime and high ...

Lattice‐Matched 2D Template Enables Efficient Cesium Tin Halide Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Lattice‐matched 2D perovskite PEA2CsSn2I7 templates the out‐of‐plane growth of inorganic 3D γ‐CsSnI3 along the (110) plane, forming highly oriented 2D/3D tin halide perovskite heterostructures. With reduced trap states and mitigated δ‐phase impurities, the CsSnI3‐based solar cells achieve a power conversion efficiency of 15.27% and maintain stable ...
