Interferometry of spontaneous parametric down conversion

Technical Digest. Summaries of papers presented at the Quantum Electronics and Laser Science Conference. Postconference Technical Digest (IEEE Cat. No.01CH37172), 2002
Summary form only given. The interference of spontaneous radiation emitted from two macroscopic regions (a nonlinear analogy of the Mach-Zehnder interferometer) is considered. The interferometer is based on two nonlinear crystals, excited in series by a common laser pump. The crystals are separated by a layer with an unknown dispersion law.

Multimode description of spontaneous parametric down-conversion

Journal of Optics B: Quantum and Semiclassical Optics, 2005
We derive the multimode generating function, joint photon-number distribution and joint integrated-intensity distribution for spontaneous parametric down-conversion in relation to measured experimental data.

Transverse correlation in optical spontaneous parametric down-conversion

Physical Review A, 1996
The transverse correlation between the pairs of photons produced in optical spontaneous parametric down-conversion is analyzed. The interesting features of the correlation arise from the form of the two-photon state generated in the process. The physics of the rings of radiation emerging from the crystal is described.

Tiniest Sources of Spontaneous Parametric Down Conversion

Optica Nonlinear Optics Topical Meeting 2023, 2023
Spontaneous parametric down-conversion in ultrathin films or metasurfaces has loose phasematching, providing enormous freedom for quantum state engineering. This includes tunable polarization entanglement, resonant enhancement of emission, controlled directivity, and generation of complex quantum states.

Mie Resonances in the Spectrum of Spontaneous Parametric Down-Conversion

Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics, 2021
We report on the first-time generation of biphotons via spontaneous parametric down-conversion driven by Mie-type resonances in subwavelength metasurfaces. The measured biphoton spectrum reveals that emission predominantly occurs at the resonant wavelength of the metasurface.

Surface effect on spontaneous parametric down-conversion

SPIE Proceedings, 2012
On the interface between two isotropic linear media the re°ection and transmission of separate monochro- matic waves occur in a normal incidence, which are described by Fresnel's formulas. On the interface between two nonlinear media, namely one of the media may be linear in a limit, the re°ection and the transmission are complicated by a wave mixing ...

Observation of spontaneous parametric down conversion in LiNbO3 waveguide arrays

Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics 2012, 2012
We study experimentally the process of bi-photon generation through spontaneous parametric down-conversion in waveguide arrays. We show the formation of a unique spatial-spectral photon pattern and its dependence on the phase-matching conditions.

Spontaneous Parametric Down-Conversion in Structured Environments

International Conference on Quantum Information, 2007
I analyze, in a general and quantitative way, the ability of transverse and longitudinal structure in an optical system to enhance the flux and modal purity of spontaneous parametric down-conversion.

Characterization of photons generated in spontaneous parametric down-conversion

SPIE Proceedings, 2014
Low-photon-number sources can exhibit non-classical, counterintuitive behavior that can be exploited in the developing field of quantum technology. Single photons play a special role in this arena since they represent the ultimate lowphoton- number source.

Experimental Realization of Spontaneous Parametric Down Conversion

Spontaneous Parametric Down-Conversion (SPDC) is a cornerstone phenomenon in nonlinear optics, where an incident high-energy photon is transformed into a pair of lower-energy photons. This quantum process serves as a fundamental tool for generating entangled photon pairs, heralded single photons, and squeezed light, making it indispensable in the ...
