Exploring the links between Large Igneous Provinces and dramatic environmental impact
An emerging consensus suggests that Large Igneous Provinces (LIPs) and Silicic LIPs (SLIPs) are a significant driver of dramatic global environmental and biological changes, including mass extinctions.

Developmental and genetic innovations in the evolution of plant body plans [PDF]
The colonization of land by plants shaped the terrestrial biosphere, the geosphere and global climates. The nature of morphological and molecular innovation driving land plant evolution has been an enigma for over 200 years.

Cytological characterization and allelism testing of anther developmental mutants identified in a screen of maize male sterile lines. [PDF]
Proper regulation of anther differentiation is crucial for producing functional pollen, and defects in or absence of any anther cell type result in male sterility.

Macrofossils in Raraku Lake (Easter Island) integrated with sedimentary and geochemical records: Towards a palaeoecological synthesis for the last 34,000 years [PDF]
Macrofossil analysis of a composite 19m long sediment core from Rano Raraku Lake (Easter Island) wasrelated to litho-sedimentary and geochemical features of the sediment. Strong stratigraphical patterns are shown by indirect gradient analyses of the data.

ABSTRACT Freshwater ecosystems are increasingly impacted by anthropogenic pollutants, including the widely used herbicide metolachlor (MET) and cigarette butt (CB) litter. Parasites represent an additional biotic stressor that can modulate pollutant effects on their hosts.
