Instrumented climbing holds and performance analysis in sport climbing
Sports Technology, 2008In three different events (national climbing Championship, sport climbing world cup, and training session), one hold was instrumented with two 3‐D force transducers. Subsequently, the mechanical parameters of climbing were defined and analyzed, and the force vector diagrams visualized for quantification of performance. The more experienced a climber is,

Injury Risk Evaluation in Sport Climbing
International Journal of Sports Medicine, 2011The aim of this study was to quantify and rate acute sport climbing injuries. Acute sport climbing injuries occurring from 2002 to 2006 were retrospectively assessed with a standardized web based questionnaire. Physiological determinants of climbing-specific finger endurance and sport rock climbing performance
Journal of Sports Sciences, 2007The aim of the study was to examine several physiological responses to a climbing-specific task to identify determinants of endurance in sport rock climbing. Finger strength and endurance of intermediate rock climbers (n = 11) and non-climbers (n = 9) were compared using climbing-specific apparatus. After maximum voluntary contraction (MVC) trials, two

Efficacy of pre‐ascent climbing route visual inspection in indoor sport climbing
Scandinavian Journal of Medicine & Science in Sports, 2012Pre‐ascent climbing route visual inspection (route preview) has been suggested as a key climbing performance parameter although its role has never been verified experimentally. We examined the efficacy of this perceptual‐cognitive skill on indoor sport climbing performance.
