Experimental Study of Attrition in the Spouted Bed and Spout-Fluid Bed with a Draft Tube [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Chemical Engineering, 2020
The attrition of 300 µm natural zeolite particles was studied in a laboratory scale draft tube spouted bed (DTSB) and spout-fluid bed (DTSFB). It has been shown that the attrition rate decreases with time and reaches to an almost constant value.

Wheat germ thermal treatment in fluidised bed. Experimental study and mathematical modelling of the heat and mass transfer [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Wheat germ is an abundant by-product of the milling industry, it has excellent nutritional qualities and high tocopherols content. The aim of this work was to study the kinetics of wheat germ drying in fluidised thin-layers by applying analytical ...

Investigation on the thermal energy storage characteristics in a spouted bed based on different nozzle numbers

open access: yesEnergy Reports, 2020
This paper presents the results of the simulations of the thermal storage and thermal release processes in a spouted bed using a self-developed computational fluid dynamics–discrete element method (CFD–DEM) model to analyze the thermal energy storage ...

TRP canonical 4 and/or 5 channel inhibition reduces aversion‐ and increases reward‐responding in chronically stressed mice

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Abstract Background and Purpose Pharmacological inhibition of TRPC4 and/or TRPC5 channels reduces Pavlovian aversion memory in stressed mice and reduces amygdala reactivity to aversion in humans with depression. The aims of this mouse study were to improve understanding of these anxiolytic processes, determine whether there are corrective effects on ...

Fluidization and coating of very dense powders by fluidized bed chemical vapour deposition. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The hydrodynamic behaviour of a very dense tungsten powder, 75 µm in median diameter and 19,300 kg/m3 in grain density, has been studied in a fluidized bed at room temperature using nitrogen and argon as carrier gas.

Drying of Heat Sensitive Materials of High Moisture Content in Mechanically Spouted Bed of Inert Particles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
In drying operation the material characteristics such as heat sensitivity, moisture content and particle size are of great importance, which should be taken into account in selection of proper design and conditions for the process.

General Instructions for Using the IntelliCage with Mice

open access: yesCurrent Protocols, Volume 6, Issue 2, February 2026.
Abstract The IntelliCage is a home‐cage‐based radiofrequency identification (RFID) test system for studying learning behavior of group‐housed mice. Specifically, the mice must learn where and how to get water within the IntelliCage. The protocol describes how to set up the IntelliCage, how to set up and start a learning experiment, what to consider ...
