Accelerated Bone Healing via Electrical Stimulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Electrical stimulation significantly impacts bone healing by enhancing osteoblast proliferation, differentiation, and vascularization through calmodulin/calcineurin/NFAT signaling. It also boosts macrophage function and cell migration, presenting a comprehensive approach to accelerating bone repair.

Dual Radiolabeling as a Technique to Track Nanocarriers: The Case of Gold Nanoparticles

open access: yesMolecules, 2015
Gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) have shown great potential for use in nanomedicine and nanotechnologies due to their ease of synthesis and functionalization. However, their apparent biocompatibility and biodistribution is still a matter of intense debate due ...

Mechanism of Electricacupuncture Treating Detrusor Bladder Neck Dyscoordination After Suprasacral Spinal Cord Injury by Proteomics [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Objectives This study aimed to elucidate the potential mechanisms of electroacupuncture (EA) in restoring detrusor-bladder neck dyssynergesia (DBND) following suprasacral spinal cord injury. Methods A total of 52 adult female Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly assigned to either a sham group (n=12) or a spinal cord injury model group (n=40).

A base-p Sprague-Grundy type theorem for p-calm subtraction games: Welter's game and representations of generalized symmetric groups [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
For impartial games $\Gamma$ and $\Gamma'$, the Sprague-Grundy function of the disjunctive sum $\Gamma + \Gamma'$ is equal to the Nim-sum of their Sprague-Grundy functions. In this paper, we introduce $p$-calm subtraction games, and show that for $p$-calm subtraction games $\Gamma$ and $\Gamma'$, the Sprague-Grundy function of a $p$-saturation of ...

Muscle‐Derived Small Extracellular Vesicles Mediate Exercise‐Induced Cognitive Protection in Chronic Cerebral Hypoperfusion

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
sEVs have a critical role in orchestrating interorgan crosstalk and mediating exercise‐induced therapeutic effects. Lin et al. demonstrates that sEVs miR‐17/20a‐5p mediates the muscle‐brain crosstalk and emphasizes the central role of mTOR signaling in executing molecular programs that can protect brain health in response to exercise. Abstract Physical

Subchronic Hepatotoxicity Evaluation of 2,3,4,6-Tetrachlorophenol in Sprague Dawley Rats

open access: yesJournal of Toxicology, 2012
Male Sprague Dawley rats were exposed to 2,3,4,6-tetrachlorophenol (TCP) for 5 days, 2 weeks, 4 weeks, or 13 weeks. TCP was administered by gavage at doses of 0, 10, 25, 50, 100, or 200 mg/kg/day.

Invariance of the Sprague-Grundy Function for Variants of Wythoff's Game [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2015
We prove three conjectures of Fraenkel and Ho regarding two classes of variants of Wythoff's game. The two classes of variants of Wythoff's game feature restrictions of the diagonal moves. Each conjecture states that the Sprague-Grundy function is invariant up to a certain nim-value for a subset of that class of variant of Wythoff's game. For one class
