Effects of spray height and spray angle on spray deposition in tobacco plants

2011 6th IEEE Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications, 2011
Due to the decreasing availability of authorized plant protection products, adequate pest control becomes more difficult in tobacco. Although much attention is given to predator-pest interactions in integrated control, almost no research is available about the optimization of spray application techniques in tobacco plants.

Effect of Spray Angle on Deposition Characteristics in Cold Spraying

International Thermal Spray Conference, 2003
Abstract A typical feature of cold spray process is that a deposit can be formed without change of the original structure and compositions of spray materials. Only particles which reach the velocity higher than the critical velocity can be deposited on a substrate in cold spraying.

Evaluation of off-angle thermal spray

Surface and Coatings Technology, 1997
Abstract The effect of spray angle on the properties of plasma spray deposits has been investigated. Two different materials, NiAl and Cr 3 C 2 –NiCr, were sprayed at angles from 50 to 90° with respect to the substrate. The spray angle influenced the microstructure and the properties of the deposits.

Effects of the spray angle on splat morphology during thermal spraying

Surface and Coatings Technology, 1997
Abstract The effects of spray angle on the morphology of thermally sprayed particles impinging on polished substrates have been studied by implementing several statistical tools (i.e., Gaussian analysis, Weibull distribution and the t -test). Nickel-based alloy (Astroloy) particles were vacuum plasma-sprayed onto copper plates at normal (i.e., 90 °)

Effect of Spray Angle in Spray Cooling Thermal Management of Electronics

Volume 4, 2004
The paper presents an experimental and numerical study of the effect of spray angle on spray cooling when applied in the thermal management of electronics. A thermal test chip provided the heated target, and was cooled by a single pressure swirl atomizer. A perfluorocarbon (PF5060) was employed as the coolant. The coolant was subcooled to a fixed level

Characteristics of Swirl Effervescent Atomizer Spray Angle

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2014
In the application of sprays produced by an atomizer, spray angle is one of key performance parameters. A larger spray angle is often required in providing a better spray dispersion. Swirl effervescent atomizer is one of the existing atomizers with the capability to produce a large spray angle. The formation of spray angle from this atomizer however is

Splat Formation in Off-Normal Angle Spray

International Thermal Spray Conference, 2000
Abstract This article examines the splat shape at off-normal angles in plasma spray and investigates the relationship between the splat elongation ratio and the spray angle on various spray materials and particle sizes. The applicability of the model to the experimental results is investigated.

Nonvertical Spray Angles Optimize Graminicide Efficacy

Weed Technology, 2007
Annual grasses constitute a major weed problem in winter annual crops in Northern Europe and especially in cropping systems where ploughing is omitted. At the optimum growth stage for control with POST herbicides, grasses have a predominantly vertical leaf orientation.

Spray coating of superhydrophobic and angle-independent coloured films

Chemical Communications, 2014
Angle-independent coloured films with superhydrophobicity were fabricated from quasi-amorphous arrays of monodispersed fluorinated silica nanoparticles via one-step spray coating. The film exhibited a high contact angle (>150°) and a low roll-off angle (~2°) and the colour could be tuned to blue, green and moccasin by varying the size of the ...
