Effect of the spray cone angle in the spray cooling with R134a

Experimental Thermal and Fluid Science, 2013
Spray cooling experiments were performed to study the effect of the spray cone angle on heat transfer and film thickness. The experiments were carried out for three different types of nozzles. Results for heat transfer and film thickness for different flow rates are presented working with the dielectric refrigerant R134a and on a heater with low ...

Effects of the spray angle on splat morphology during thermal spraying

Surface and Coatings Technology, 1997
Abstract The effects of spray angle on the morphology of thermally sprayed particles impinging on polished substrates have been studied by implementing several statistical tools (i.e., Gaussian analysis, Weibull distribution and the t -test). Nickel-based alloy (Astroloy) particles were vacuum plasma-sprayed onto copper plates at normal (i.e., 90 °)

Evaluation of off-angle thermal spray

Surface and Coatings Technology, 1997
Abstract The effect of spray angle on the properties of plasma spray deposits has been investigated. Two different materials, NiAl and Cr 3 C 2 –NiCr, were sprayed at angles from 50 to 90° with respect to the substrate. The spray angle influenced the microstructure and the properties of the deposits.

Effect of spray angle on Ni particle deposition behaviour in cold spray

Surface Engineering, 2018
In this work, cold sprayed Ni particles depositing onto stainless steel (SS) and aluminium substrates was studied the deposition behaviour and bonding mechanism at different spray angles. Contrary to common investigation which is limited to the cross-section or surface, the fractured contact surface on deposited particle was obtained by detaching the ...
