Effect of Spray Angle on Deposition Characteristics in Cold Spraying

International Thermal Spray Conference, 2003
Abstract A typical feature of cold spray process is that a deposit can be formed without change of the original structure and compositions of spray materials. Only particles which reach the velocity higher than the critical velocity can be deposited on a substrate in cold spraying.

Spray structures and vaporizing characteristics of a GDI fuel spray

KSME International Journal, 2002
The spray structures and distribution characteristics of liquid and vapor phases in non-evaporating and evaporating Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) fuel sprays were investigated using Laser Induced Exciplex Fluorescence (LIEF) technique. Dopants were 2% fluorobenzene and 9% DEM A (diethyl-methyl-amine) in 89% solution of hexane by volume.

Powder Characteristics of Proteins Spray-Dried from Different Spray-Dryers

Drug Development and Industrial Pharmacy, 1995
AbstractThe powder characteristics of bovine somatotropin and casein spray-dried from laboratory, pilot and production spray-dryers were investigated. The powder characteristics examined included particle size distribution and morphology; bulk density; and flowability as measured by angle of repose, compressibility index and shear cell indices ...

The Spray Characteristics and Spray Behavior Characteristic in Exhaust Gas Flow of Urea Solution Injector

Transactions of the Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers B, 2010
Recently, many technologies have been developed in order to satisfy stringent emission regulations. However, in the case of diesel engines, the stringent emission regulations with respect to NOx and PM have not yet been satisfied. A dramatic reduction in the NOx and PM emissions could be achieved by using after-treatment systems such as lean NOx trap ...

Paint spray tests for respirators: aerosol characteristics

American Industrial Hygiene Association Journal, 1980
Liquid paint is sprayed from an atomizing nozzle to form an aerosol for testing paint spray respirators. The generated aerosol conditions are dependent upon liguid properties, spray-nozzle flow conditions and droplet evaporation. A technique was developed for controlling the aerosol concentrations reliably.

Vacuum characteristics of sprayed metal films

Journal of Vacuum Science & Technology A: Vacuum, Surfaces, and Films, 2001
The need to reduce particles in semiconductor equipment and data storage equipment is in high demand. In recent years, barrier and glue layers on shields have been used to reduce particles generated in physical vapor deposition equipment. For this purpose, spray coatings are applied to shields.

Some performance characteristics of spray columns

AIChE Journal, 1972
AbstractExperimental data on the drop size distribution obtained from multiple nozzles in a spray column are presented and analyzed. For nozzles having a diameter above the critical size, the distribution pattern change from near normal monomodal to bimodal and back again to monomodal but skewed toward the larger size fraction.
