Near-net-shape Tungsten-Rhenium Alloy Parts Produced by Shrouded Plasma Spray Forming
W-5% (mass fraction) Re composite powder was fabricated by a new cladding method. W-5%Re nozzles used for solid rocket motor (SRM) were produced by shrouded plasma spray forming (PSF). The change regularity with the sintering time for the compact density,

Reactive plasma spraying [PDF]
Reactive Plasma Spraying (RPS) with a hydrocarbon gas has been studied as a method to improve the mechanical properties of a commercially available 80: 20 nickel-chromium alloy, and subsequently as a method to reduce the oxygen content of sprayed ...

The spray forming of Ni based superalloys
The main aim has been to investigate the effect of process parameters on the spray forming of UDIMET 720 and in particular to understand the mechanism of grain size evolution in the deposit using a combination of experimental and computer modelling ...

Experimental Characterization of Mycelium‐Based Composites Under Multiple Loading Conditions
This study examines the mechanical response of mycelium‐based composites under compression, shear, and tension using mechanical testing and imaging methods. The comparison between unpressed and hot‐pressed specimens shows that hot pressing is associated with higher compression and shear stiffnesses.

Feasibility of Nitrogen as a Carrier Gas for Inconel Cold Spray in Hydropower Application
N2, despite being nearly two orders of magnitude cheaper than He, is a feasible carrier gas for cold spray Inconel coatings in hydropower repair applications when higher gas temperature and pressure are used. Reducing powder size significantly improved cavitation resistance, while the addition of fine chromium carbide particles further enhanced erosion

Fundamental differences between spray forming and other semisolid processes
The distinguished microstructural features of spray formed products are the refined equiaxed grain structure and lower segregation level. Attempts have been made in the past to propose mechanisms to explain the formation of equiaxed grain structure ...

Comparison of Triply Periodic Minimal Surface Energy Absorbers Under Uniaxial Compressive Loading
This study investigates LCD 3D printed Triply Periodic Minimal Surface (TPMS) structures as mechanical energy absorbers. By comparing various base designs and layered combinations under uniaxial compression, it identifies that a Diamond‐Gyroid sandwich structure offers superior performance.
