Individual serum bile acids in apprentice spray painters in association with solvent exposure
International Archives of Occupational and Environmental Health, 1996The effects of exposure to solvents on serum bile acids were investigated by comparing a group of apprentice vehicle spray painters (exposed group) with one of apprentice electricians. Apprentice spray painters from the study were subdivided into high- and low-solvent-exposure groups.

The aim of this study was twofold: 1) To examine the usefulness of the screening Questionnaire 16 (Q16) in relation to Type 2 organic solvent neurotoxicity (OSN). Type 2 OSN is defined by chronic exposure to neurotoxic solvents and symptoms of neurotoxocity, and is divided into Type 2A, characterized by sustained personality or mood change, and Type 2B,

Biological Sprays to Control Colorado Potato Beetle, Painter, VA, 1992
Insecticide and Acaricide Tests, 1993Abstract Potatoes were planted on 18 Mar at the Eastern Shore Agricultural Experiment Station, Painter, VA. Each plot consisted of a double 25 ft row bordered on each side by an untreated row, replicated 4 times in a randomized complete block design. Plant spacing was 12 inches with 36 inches between rows.

Laryngological Screening of Industrial Workers (Galvanizers, Spray Painters, Enamellers)
1984The incidence of laryngeal cancer in the German Democratic Republic was determined as 5.5 per 100,000 inhabitants. In industrial cities, however, the figures increased to 6.2 to 8.9 per 100,000 people. From these observations a screening project for high risk groups appeared reasonable.

Dermal Absorption of Solvents as a Major Source of Exposure Among Shipyard Spray Painters
Journal of Occupational & Environmental Medicine, 2007The purpose of this study was to evaluate the relevance of inhalational and dermal exposure to solvents in shipyard spray painters. Special emphasis was placed on the spatial distribution of dermal exposure and absorption across different regions of the body.Fifteen male spray painters were recruited for this study. The subjects were monitored during a

To determine the contribution of dermal absorption on the total exposure dose and the performance of respirators in the field for xylene in spray painters.Eighteen male spray painters worked at shipyard were recruited for this study. The subjects were monitored during a 3-day-work period using a repeated-measures study design.

Isocyanate exposure and respiratory symptoms in Dutch car spray painters
2005Isocyanate allergy and asthma is an important respiratory disease in most industrialized countries. Little information about its importance is available for the Netherlands. A baseline survey, part of a larger longitudinal epidemiological survey, shows that exposure to mainly HDI monomers and oligomers is present.

Spray Painters' Skin Exposure to 1,6-Hexamethylene Diisocyanate Monomer and Its Oligomers
2015Skin exposure to 1,6-hexamethylene diisocyanate monomer and its oligomers were assessed in 25 automobile-repair workers using patch, patch circle, and tape-strip skin-sampling methods. The efficacy of nitrile gloves and other work-related factors were evaluated for exposure reduction.
