Wind field and droplet coverage characteristics of air-assisted sprayer in mango-tree canopies.

Pest Management Science, 2022
BACKGROUND Air-assisted sprayers is one of the primary fruit tree pest control approaches in agricultural production. It is necessary to study the influence of multiple factors on both wind field and droplet coverage of air-assisted sprayers.

Periodic Inspection on Crop Sprayers

Journal of Environmental Science and Health, Part B: Pesticides, Food Contaminants, and Agricultural Wastes, 2005
The objectives of the IPP Project--Periodic Inspection on Crop Sprayers--are to develop methods for sprayer certification, analyze quality on spray operation, propose an inspection system for crop sprayers in Brazil, improve environmental quality on spray operation, and reduce costs on chemical control for plant protection systems. Periodic inspections

Sprayer Cleaning: The Importance of the Sprayer Adjustment on the External Contamination

2003, Las Vegas, NV July 27-30, 2003, 2003
A new ISO standard concerning the cleaning of sprayers (ISO DIS 22368) is on the way to be defined. It deals with both external and internal cleaning of the sprayers and aims at defining standardized procedures for the evaluation of the efficiency of the cleaning devices provided with the machines.

Cytogenetic Monitoring of Pesticide Sprayers

Environmental Research, 1997
The induction of chromosome aberrations, micronuclei, and sister-chromatid exchanges (SCEs) was examined in cultured lymphocytes of 27 vineyard growers exposed to pesticides. Cytogenetic examinations were performed during the prespraying period, a month after spraying, and at the end of the spraying season. For comparison purposes, the same cytogenetic

An Automatic Intermittent Sprayer

Transactions of the ASAE, 1981
ABSTRACT AUTOMATIC intermittent sprayers were developed for applying insecticides on plants spaced apart within rows. Air-, and electrically, and photoelectrically operated intermittent sprayers were fabricated and com-pared with continuous sprayers for controlling insect pests on vegetable plants.

Portable electrostatic sprayer

Proceedings of 1994 IEEE Industry Applications Society Annual Meeting, 2002
A gasoline powered portable electrostatic sprayer is described which has been modified for induction charging of the spray droplets. Significant charge is developed on the spray over a range of liquid flow rates from 12-21 ml/s. Objects at least 12 meters from the sprayer can be covered effectively.

Effects of leaf response velocity on spray deposition with an air-assisted orchard sprayer

International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering, 2021
The interaction between leaves and airflow has a direct effect on the droplet deposition characteristics of the leaf canopy. In order to make clear the mechanism of droplet deposition in terms of the interaction between the droplets and leaves from the ...

A Small-Plot Sprayer

Weed Science, 1971
A belt-carried small-plot sprayer for field research work was constructed. Spray materials are prepared in 1-quart polypropylene bottles, and these are placed directly in the pressure canister of the sprayer for application. The system is charged by a CO2 pressure source and the spray applied through conventional booms.

Field evaluation of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) sprayer: effect of spray volume on deposition and the control of pests and disease in wheat.

Pest Management Science, 2019
BACKGROUND Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are a recently developed aerial spraying technology. However, the effect of spray volume variation on deposition and pesticide control efficacy is unknown. The effect of three UAV spray volumes (9.0, 16.8 and 28.
