Directed Sprayer for Targeting Pesticides

Weed Technology, 1992
An experimental directed sprayer has been improved for use in conservation-tillage and no-tillage field conditions and variable row widths. The directed sprayer consists of a rear-mounted toolbar with individually flotational spraying units on lightweight runners which move over field surfaces without the collection of loose residues.

A Review of Application Error for Sprayers

Transactions of the ASAE, 1992
A cursory study of error quantification was conducted to develop a general error term to be applied to the performance of chemical applicators. The term developed is capable of taking into consideration the time delays associated with direct boom injection applicators.

A Laboratory Sprayer-Flamer

Weed Science, 1969
A bench-mounted sprayer-flamer for research work is described. Constant rate spraying, logarithmic-dosage spraying, and flaming can be done at variable spray pressures and 10 speeds. The sprayer-flamer facilitates accurate and rapid application of material on plants and soil in pots and flats. The logarithmic-dosage sprayer gives a 16-fold variation in

Sprayer Performance Evaluation with Microcomputers

Applied Engineering in Agriculture, 1987
CROP yield and quality depend very much on the effective application of pesticides. Too little chemical causes inefficient pest control while an overdose increases cost, may damage the crop, and adds to pesticide pollution problems. Traditional approaches to teaching crop producers how to calibrate their sprayers have not been very effective.
