Cytogenetic Monitoring of Pesticide Sprayers

Environmental Research, 1997
The induction of chromosome aberrations, micronuclei, and sister-chromatid exchanges (SCEs) was examined in cultured lymphocytes of 27 vineyard growers exposed to pesticides. Cytogenetic examinations were performed during the prespraying period, a month after spraying, and at the end of the spraying season. For comparison purposes, the same cytogenetic

Portable electrostatic sprayer

Proceedings of 1994 IEEE Industry Applications Society Annual Meeting, 2002
A gasoline powered portable electrostatic sprayer is described which has been modified for induction charging of the spray droplets. Significant charge is developed on the spray over a range of liquid flow rates from 12-21 ml/s. Objects at least 12 meters from the sprayer can be covered effectively.

Experimental Orchard Sprayer

Transactions of the ASAE, 1982
ABSTRACT AN experimental sprayer that can surround a tree with spray was developed for use with a self-propelled base unit. Pesticides are metered with variable-displacement metering pumps at the proper rate regardless of travel speed and are mixed with water in-line to the nozzles. Sprays are protected from wind by sheet metal on the base unit and are

Direct Injection Sprayer

2010
This chapter describes past and present direct injection systems (DIS). The systems are structured into central (CDIS), boom section (BDIS) and nozzle injection systems (NDIS). A major motivation to develop DIS is to extend the flexibility of applying different pesticides, to advance precision of application , and to enhance the operator comfort and ...
