Higgledy-piggledy subspaces and uniform subspace designs [PDF]
In this article, we investigate collections of `well-spread-out' projective (and linear) subspaces. Projective $k$-subspaces in $\mathsf{PG}(d,\mathbb{F})$ are in `higgledy-piggledy arrangement' if they meet each projective subspace of co-dimension $k ...

Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

A model for equatorial explosive spread F
Explosive spread F was first described by Woodman and LaHoz [1976]. In such events the 50 MHz radar signal rises at Jicamarca to 10‐20 db above the noise level within a few milliseconds but then disappears within 100 ms or less. Woodman has suggested that electric fields from thunderstorms might drive a plasma instability which could cause these echoes,

Differential disease restriction of Moloney and Friend murine leukemia viruses by the mouse Rmcf gene is governed by the viral long terminal repeat. [PDF]
Neonatal CxD2 (Rmcfr) and Balb/c (Rmcfs) mice inoculated with Moloney murine leukemia virus (M-MuLV) exhibited approximately equivalent time course and pathology for disease.

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

Ionograms are radar echo graphs that depict vertical ionospheric density profiles, structures, fluctuations, and irregularities, with the F region represented by F‐trace and Spread‐F features in the graphs.
