Improvement of direct spreading spectrum by multi-spreading spectrum
IET 3rd International Conference on Wireless, Mobile and Multimedia Networks (ICWMMN 2010), 2010In the direct spreading spectrum(DSS) the number of length of spreading is less, and the several errors will lead to sharp decrease of peak-to-sidelobe ratio and the errors sometimes cannot be corrected. To solve this problem, a new method of Multi-Spreading Spectrum (i.e. MSS) with error-correcting ability is proposed.

Quantum Spread Spectrum Communication
Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics 2010, 2010We demonstrate that spectral teleportation can coherently dilate the spectral probability amplitude of a single photon. In preserving the encoded quantum information, this variant of teleportation subsequently enables a form of quantum spread spectrum communication.

This paper describes an idealized spread-spectrum communication system. The processing gain concept is developed as a measure of a well-designed system's robust performance against independent wide-sense stationary interference. Multipath and repeater jammer rejection, partial correlation problems, and security requirements are related to spread ...

Spread spectrum techniques, which are included in this chapter, are techniques by which a digital signal generated with a particular bandwidth is deliberately spread in the frequency domain, which gives the set of techniques this name. These techniques are used primarily to establish a means of secure communications, and in their early days, they were ...

Spread-spectrum communications
IEEE Potentials, 1993The characteristics of spread-spectrum systems that account for their growing use are examined. They offer low probability of intercept, signal hiding, and jammer rejection. Spread spectrum also provides a measure of immunity to multipath interference and multiple access capability, making it ideal for radar, telephone, local area networks, and many ...

In this chapter we will present the basic idea behind spread spectrum systems together with some of the most important issues regarding their design and implementation. We will start with a definition of spread spectrum systems and consider their advantages as well as their disadvantages, after which the different types will be described.

Abstract One of the first applications of the wartime and postwar informational studies of noise was the spread-spectrum technology that scrambled transmitted signals in a communication system for encryptive or antijamming purposes. These scrambled signals effectively “rode on” a noisy carrier.

Spread spectrum signals have the distinguishing characteristic that the bandwidth used to transmit a message is much greater than the message bandwidth. This band spread is achieved by using a spreading code or pseudo-noise (PN) sequence that is independent of the message and is known to the receiver.
