Weed suppression ability of spring barley varieties

Weed Research, 1995
SummaryThree years of experiments with spring barley showed significant differences in weed suppression ability among varieties. Weed dry matter in the most suppressive variety, Ida, was 48% lower than the mean weed dry matter of all varieties, whereas it was 31% higher in the least suppressive variety, Grit.

High biomass genotypes in spring barley

The Journal of Agricultural Science, 1985
SUMMARYThree experiments were carried out to measure grain and biomass yields of spring barley breeding lines and varieties. Leaf diseases were controlled by applying proprietary fungicides and in some treatments plants were supported by nets to prevent lodging.

The nitrogen fertilization of spring barley

Plant and Soil, 1981
From 1971 to 1979 field trials with increasing rates of fertilizer nitrogen on spring barley with sugar beet as the preceding crop were conducted on a farm on sandy loam in the south western part of The Netherlands. Prior to sowing and fertilizing soil samples were taken and analysed for mineral nitrogen (Nmin).

Nitrogen utilization in spring barley genotypes

2007
Plant characters related to the utilization of nitrogen were investigated in fifteen barley genotypes. The results showed that differences among the genotypes for all characters were significant. Grain yield, total N yield and grain protein content of genotypes ranged between 2186 and 3222 kg.ha−1, 72.7 and 102.3 kg.ha−1, 12.01 and 13.27 ...

Fusariosis of spring barley cultivated in Lublin region

Mycotoxin Research, 1991
Diseases of spring barley in 1986-1988 seasons have been examined on barley plantations in Lublin region. Observations in eight weeks after sowing each year spring showed the occurrence of root rot and sheath rot in seedlings. As a result of mycological examination of infected seedlings 34 species of fungi were isolated:Fusarium spp. amounted up to 23%

EVALUATION OF SPRING BARLEY YIELD STABILITY

Bulletin of KSAU
The purpose of research is to determine the share of influence of factors in the overall variability of barley yield and assess stability using parametric and non-parametric statistical methods in the conditions of the south of the Moscow Region. According to the results of the study (2020–2022), significant contributions to yield variability were ...
