GENETICS OF COMMON WHEAT (TRITICUM AESTIVUM L.) RESISTANCE TO LOOSE SMUT (USTILAGO TRITICI (PERS.) JENS.) (REVIEW)

open access: yesВавиловский журнал генетики и селекции, 2015
The authors summarize their own research and data from the literature to overview the current knowledge of the genetics of soft wheat resistance to loose smut. The inheritance and chromosomal location of 12 resistance genes are considered.

Species‐Specific Adaptability in Seasonal Resource Use by Non‐Breeding Crows: Contrasting Responses to Natural and Anthropogenic Environments

open access: yesEcological Research, Volume 41, Issue 4, July 2026.
Two sympatric crow species showed distinct resource use during the snow‐free season, exploiting different environments and anthropogenic resources. In contrast, during winter, both species converged on similar habitats and food resources under snow cover. These results highlight flexible, season‐dependent resource use in non‐breeding crows.

Gluten Analysis and Regulation: Scientific, Analytical, and Economic Dimensions of Gluten‐Free Assurance

open access: yesComprehensive Reviews in Food Science and Food Safety, Volume 25, Issue 4, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Gluten‐free regulations require analytical systems that can reliably measure gluten in wheat, rye, and barley, and, in some jurisdictions, in oats across diverse food ingredients and processed foods. Examples include baked goods, fermented products such as beer, and extruded snack foods, where processing can alter gluten extractability and ...

Texture Engineering of Nondairy Yogurt Alternatives: Ingredient Selection, Processing Strategies, and the Role of In Situ Dextrans

open access: yesComprehensive Reviews in Food Science and Food Safety, Volume 25, Issue 4, July 2026.
ABSTRACT A global shift from diets rich in animal‐based products toward plant‐based diets has been widely promoted as a key strategy for creating more sustainable food systems. However, the adoption of plant‐based alternatives depends on multiple factors, including consumer preferences, sensory quality, product affordability, and availability, in ...

Food Price Crises and the Insulation of Domestic Grain Markets

open access: yesAgricultural Economics, Volume 57, Issue 4, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Studies that analyze the transmission of food prices from international to domestic markets for large sets of countries and products assume that price relationships are time‐invariant. However, studies that look in detail at individual countries and products show that countries respond to increasing international food prices with measures that

Estimation of spring soft wheat varieties by yield and adaptive properties

open access: yesАграрная наука Евро-Северо-Востока, 2017
The evaluation of varieties of spring soft wheat Bazhenka, Vyatchanka, Svecha, Iren’, Margarita, Simbirzit, and Priokskaya on yield and parameters of adaptive properties, including ecological plasticity, stability and homeostaticity was carried out. A significant influence of environmental factors on the formation of productivity is shown.

The Optimal Bribe: Price Versus Quantity Competition in Oligopolies

open access: yesThe Manchester School, Volume 94, Issue 4, Page 378-397, July 2026.
ABSTRACT We analyze an entry deterrence model between an incumbent firm and a potential entrant, where the incumbent strategically offers bribes to local officials to raise entry barriers. Our focus is a three‐stage Bertrand game under incomplete information in a differentiated goods market.
