AC Baltic spring wheat [PDF]

open access: yesCanadian Journal of Plant Science, 1992
AC Baltic is a spring feed wheat (Triticum aestivum L. em. Thell.) with high grain yield, medium maturity and good lodging resistance. It is resistant to powdery mildew (caused by Erysiphe graminis, D.C. ex Merat f. sp. tritici Marchai), moderately susceptible to septoria leaf and glume blotch (caused by Septoria nodorum (Berk.) Berk.) and moderately ...

HIV‐1 establishes immediate latency in T cells expressing the viral Nef protein

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Nef is a viral protein often omitted from HIV‐1 reporter viruses. Consequently, its role in viral latency is unclear. We developed three novel dual reporter HIV‐1 derivatives that express Nef and allow for detection of latent and productive infection. Using these reporters, we show that Nef does not affect the establishment of immediate viral latency ...

Reduction in Nitrogen Fertilization Rate for Spring Wheat Due to Carbon Mineralization-Induced Nitrogen Mineralization

open access: yesAgrochemicals
Using predicted potential N mineralization (PNM) from its relationship with CO2 flush at 1 d incubation (CF) of soil samples in recommended N rates can reduce N fertilization rates for crops. This study used predicted PNM at the 0–15 cm depth to reduce N

A Depolarizing Leak in Sodium Bicarbonate Cotransporter NBCe1 Causes Brain Edema

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives SLC4A4 encodes electrogenic sodium bicarbonate cotransporter NBCe1, prominently expressed in kidney and brain. Recessive loss‐of‐function variants in SLC4A4 cause proximal renal tubular acidosis, no brain edema. In the brain, NBCe1 is expressed by astrocytes, where it regulates pH and mediates astrocyte volume changes.

Predicting spring wheat yields based on water use-yield production function in a semi-arid climate

open access: yesSpanish Journal of Agricultural Research, 2019
Grain yield of spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) fluctuates greatly in Western Loess Plateau of China due to limited and highly variable precipitation.

Wheat Aphid Control in Spring Wheat, 1994 [PDF]

open access: yesArthropod Management Tests, 1995
Abstract Plots were established on the UI Research and Extension Center, Kimberly, ID. Soil type was Portneuf silt loam and irrigation was by solid set sprinklers. Seven treatments and one untreated check were replicated 4 times in a RCBD. Wheat was planted 12 May and all treatments were applied on 27 Jun.

Harnessing Fungal Biowelding for Constructing Mycelium‐Engineered Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Mycelium‐bound composites (MBCs) offer low‐carbon alternatives for construction, yet interfacial bonding remains a critical challenge. This review examines fungal biowelding as a biocompatible adhesive, elucidating mycelium‐mediated interfacial mechanisms and their role in material assembly. Strategies to optimize biowelding are discussed, highlighting

Content of phenolic antioxidants and selenium in grain of einkorn (Triticum monococcum), emmer (Triticum dicoccum) and spring wheat (Triticum aestivum) varieties

open access: yesPlant, Soil and Environment, 2011
Wheat is worldwide consumed and contributes significantly to the intake of antioxidants with beneficial healthy effects. In the precise two-year field experiments in 2008 and 2009 two varieties of wheat einkorn, two varieties of emmer wheat and three ...
