An accelerated springback compensation method
International Journal of Mechanical Sciences, 2007Part shape error due to springback is usually considered to be a manufacturing defect in sheet metal forming process. This problem can be corrected by adjusting the tooling shape to the appropriate shape and/or active process control. In this paper, the focus will be on tooling shape design.

Effect of normal anisotropy on springback
Journal of Materials Processing Technology, 2007Abstract Share of high and advanced high strength steels in automobile is increasing, however, such steels generally have poor formability and high amount of springback. One of the focus areas of research in high strength automotive steel is to increase the normal anisotropy to get better formability.

Springback in simple axisymmetric stampings
Metallurgical Transactions A, 1993A series of experiments was conducted to measure springback (calculated from dome height measurements) in a simple, stretched sheet metal part formed using a 50.8-mm-radius hemispherical punch. Parts were formed from three materials [5182-0 aluminum, 2036-T4 aluminum, and aluminum-killed (AK) steel] using three different binder geometries (lockbead ...

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part B: Journal of Engineering Manufacture, 2009
In sheet metal forming processes, one of the main problems is the occurrence of springback/negative springback which can be influenced by various factors. A number of research scientists have conducted valuable investigation on springback phenomenon. However, the negative springback problem has rarely been investigated.

Springback Considerations in Forming Aluminum
SAE Technical Paper Series, 1977<div class="htmlview paragraph">Springback from tension loading has been quantitatively assessed for 5182 aluminum alloy after various percents of rolling reduction. Aluminum alloys 5182-H140, 2036-T4, X7046-T6 and 1010-CQ steel as commercially produced also have been evaluated and compared in relation to springback, both in tensile and bending ...

The effect of restraining force on springback
International Journal of Solids and Structures, 1991Abstract In this paper, the effects or restraining force on springback are analyzed by following the stress-strain development across the sheet thickness for flanged channels, stretch-bent under planestrain conditions. An isotropic-kinematic hardening rule is assumed for the material, so that the elastic-plastic unloading behavior involved in forming

Springback in high-strength steels
Journal of Applied Metalworking, 1981A study has been made of springback after the forming of a simple flange in CRLC, SAE 950X and 980X, and a dual-phase steel; the variables investigated were material thickness, die gap, anvil radius and prior cold work. It was found that springback increased as the strength of the steel, anvil radius and die gap increased and as the sheet thickness ...
