Proceeding of the 2013 workshop on Cellular networks: operations, challenges, and future design, 2013
We envision cities where networking infrastructures, such as Wi-Fi access points (AP), will be equipped with storage capabilities. We propose to utilize the storage as a large distributed video cache. If successful, we envision that a child will be able to seamlessly watch a movie in a car, as her tablet downloads necessary parts of the movie over ...

Studies on Sprinklers Arrangement in Sprinkler Systems
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2013To improve the fire suppressing efficiency and reliability of the sprinkler systems, in this paper we analysis and discuss a problem about sprinklers arrangement. Use the water distribution curve of ZST-15 and the MATLAB to accomplish a 3D surface fitting among radius of protection, working pressure and mounting height as well as get a function ...

We calculate the range R of a rotating water sprinkler as a function of the angles ϑ,φ specifying the orientation of the nozzles, the mass rate of water ejection, and the area of the orifice of the nozzles. In order to compare the two approaches, we solve the problem completely in both a laboratory and a rotating frame of reference.

The invention relates to a sprinkler device comprising a sprinkler head that can be pivoted about a pivoting axis in relation to a fixed base. The pivoting motion of said sprinkler head is driven by a turbine (TU), which is powered by water flowing through the latter by means of several individual nozzles (DKR, OKL), said turbine having in particular a
