The Unexpected Discovery of Paleocene? Coals in Outcrops Thought to Be Cambrian, Al Huqf, Oman
ABSTRACT Two brown organic deposits were encountered whilst investigating kaolinitic claystones thought to occur at the base of a Cambrian formation at outcrop. The age of these organic deposits is probably Paleocene from palynology. Organic petrography shows that they are subbituminous coals with some oil source potential.

Share of transcripts and ITS2 sequence for each gene families among identified fungal contigs and OTUs. Summary Boreal forest ecosystems constitute a large terrestrial reservoir of carbon. In these nitrogen‐limited environments, release of nutrients through decomposition of soil organic matter is of fundamental importance.

De‐Coupled Water and Nitrogen Translocation From Subsoil to Canopy of Temperate Forest Trees
ABSTRACT Water and nitrogen (N) transport from soil to canopy play a central role in tree functioning, yet direct evidence for their timing and coupling in mature forests remains scarce. We report results from a paired dual‐isotope (2H, 15N) tracer experiment in a temperate forest, comparing water and nitrate uptake patterns across tree species ...

Abstract I‐sections dominate conventional steel construction but exhibit direction‐dependent stability behavior, and in fire the steel's modulus of elasticity decreases rapidly. We therefore investigate a composite load‐bearing system in which the web cavities of I‐section beams are infilled with timber elements made of spruce glulam (GLT‐S) and beech ...

In this study, we analysed data collected at 40 sites in the Northwest of Scotland (from 2018 to 2020) to quantify the relative contributions of hypothesised pathogen transmission hosts (deer and sheep) and non‐transmission hosts (birds and rodents) on the environmental abundance of ecotypes I and II of Anaplasma phagocytophilum. Our results add to our
