Mass Flights of the Spruce Budworm
The Canadian Entomologist, 1951During the course of an investigation of the dispersal of the spruce budwonm (Henson, 1950), mass flights of the insect have been studied. The records of these flights are to be found in the files of the Forest Insect Laboratory, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, but in many cases these records are not complete.

Spruce Budworm Control in a White Spruce Plantation, 1977
Insecticide and Acaricide Tests, 1978Abstract The test was designed to compare two experimental numbered compounds and a new formulation of Sevin to a standard formulation, Sevimol. Treatments were assigned randomly to three 30 x 30 ft plots marked out in the plantation. Treated plots were separated by 25 ft buffers.

The Sensitivity of Young White Spruce to Spruce Budworm Defoliation
Northern Journal of Applied Forestry, 1991Abstract Relationships between defoliation and volume growth were determined for 68 young white spruce trees in a 20-year-old plantation defoliated over a 2-year period by the spruce budworm. In the first year of defoliation, intensities ranging from 7 to 89% of the current foliage did not influence volume growth significantly.

The Spruce Budworm-Forest and Other Ecosystems
1983In the past decade quite a number of publications have appeared describing properties of time- and/or space-dependent phenomena and dissipative structures in nonlinear systems. Reactor kinetics /1/, non-equilibrium thermodynamics /2/, synergetics /3/, ecology /4,5/ and other disciplines have strongly benefited from the detailed mathematical analysis of
