Auditory–Tactile Congruence for Synthesis of Adaptive Pain Expressions in RoboPatients

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
In this work, we explore auditory–tactile congruence for synthesizing adaptive vocal pain expressions in robopatients. Using a robopatient platform that integrates vocal pain sounds with palpation forces, we conducted 7680 trials across 20 participants.

Physical Origin of Temperature Induced Activation Energy Switching in Electrically Conductive Cement

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The temperature‐induced Arrhenius activation energy switching phenomenon of electrical conduction in electrically conductive cement originates from structural degradation within the biphasic ionic‐electronic conduction architecture and shows percolation‐governed characteristics: pore network opening dominates the low‐percolation regime with downward ...

Sensory processing sensitivity in adult dental patients and its relation to perceived stress, cortisol, and serotonin secretion

open access: yesScientific Reports
Sensory processing sensitivity (SPS) is a biologically determined trait that influences how individuals respond to external and internal stimuli.

Exploring the Impact of Alternatives of Object-Oriented Cohesion Measures on Machine Learning-Based Predictions of Inheritance Reusability

open access: yesIEEE Access
The cohesion of an object-oriented class refers to the relatedness of its methods and attributes. Constructors, destructors, and access methods are special types of methods featuring unique characteristics that can artificially affect class cohesion ...

Multifaceted Roles of Tantalum in Promoting the Thermoelectric Performance of Mg3(Sb,Bi)2 Based Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A multifunctional tantalum incorporation strategy enables simultaneous tuning of carrier concentration, mitigation of grain‐boundary scattering, and enhanced phonon scattering in Mg3(Sb,Bi)2. These synergistic effects markedly improve carrier mobility and suppress lattice thermal conductivity, yielding both high material zT and high module conversion ...

Unlocking Strength‐Toughness Dilemma in High‐Entropy Borides by Intragranular Microstructural Reconstruction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An extreme non‐equilibrium process combining heavy direct current sintering and TiSi2 addition is used to construct intragranular energy dissipation units within high‐entropy boride ceramics to overcome the strength‐toughness trade‐off. The resulting ceramic demonstrates attractive mechanical properties with a flexural strength of 887 MPa and a ...

CD31+ Cell Enrichment Enhances Therapeutic Effects of Stromal Vascular Fraction in Experimental Primary Osteoarthritis: A Preclinical Study in the Dunkin Hartley Guinea Pig Model

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Both SVF and CD31+ SVF improve spontaneous osteoarthritis, but CD31+ enrichment refines the therapeutic profile rather than broadly enhancing all effects. More distinct benefits are observed in extracellular matrix remodeling, osteochondral integrity, and subchondral/trabecular bone preservation, supporting CD31+‐enriched SVF as a biologically enhanced

BEAM MEASUREMENTS OF THE SPS LONGITUDINAL IMPEDANCE

open access: yes, 2017
Longitudinal instabilities are one of the main limitations in the CERN SPS to reach the beam parameters required for the High Luminosity LHC project. In preparation to the SPS upgrade, possible remedies are studied by performing macroparticle simulations using the machine impedance model obtained from electromagnetic simulations and measurements.
