Thymic squamous cell carcinoma [PDF]
In the case described, a 43-year-old man had an asymptomatic mass involving the right hilar and superior mediastinum. At surgery, the tumor was found to have invaded the right middle lobe of the lung and the pericardium. The mass was found to be a thymic squamous cell carcinoma, a rare tumor.

Yin Yang 1 is associated with cancer stem cell transcription factors (SOX2, OCT4, BMI1) and clinical implication. [PDF]
The transcription factor Yin Yang 1 (YY1) is frequently overexpressed in cancerous tissues compared to normal tissues and has regulatory roles in cell proliferation, cell viability, epithelial-mesenchymal transition, metastasis and drug/immune resistance.

Expression of heparanase in basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma [PDF]
: Background: Heparanase is an enzyme that cleaves heparan sulfate chains. Oligosaccharides generated by heparanase induce tumor progression. Basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma comprise types of nonmelanoma skin cancer.

Fibroblast growth factor receptor signaling in hereditary and neoplastic disease: biologic and clinical implications. [PDF]
Fibroblast growth factors (FGFs) and their receptors (FGFRs) are transmembrane growth factor receptors with wide tissue distribution. FGF/FGFR signaling is involved in neoplastic behavior and also development, differentiation, growth, and survival.
