Reentrant transition of the Ising Model on the centred square lattice [PDF]
The Ising model on the centred square lattice (Union Jack lattice) is studied by Vdovichenko's method, for a more general case than Vaks et al. (1966). The reentrant transition of the system is interpreted in terms of effective interactions. A method of associating a factor -1 to some corners of a loop in Vdovichenko's method (1965) is adopted, by ...

Layered inhomogeneous Ising models with frustration on a square lattice
Zeitschrift fr Physik B Condensed Matter, 1981Generalizing a previous treatment we study inhomogeneous Ising models on a square lattice. In particular, we consider models with a layered structure, i.e. translational invariance in the horizontal direction. Otherwise, couplings are allowed to be of arbitrary strength and sign.

Square lattice variational approximations applied to the Ising model
Journal of Statistical Physics, 1979The variational method developed by Baxter is applied to the zero-field Ising model on the square lattice. The problem is simplified to that of solving a relatively small system of nonlinear equations. The estimates to the spontaneous magnetization and the critical temperature from the sequence of variational approximations are obtained.

Ising Model with Even-Bonds Plaquettes on the Square Lattice
Journal of the Physical Society of Japan, 1989We propose an exactly soluble Ising model with two kinds of exchange integrals on a square lattice. We assume that the number of bonds on which the exchange integrals take a value is even around each elementary plaquette; we name such a plaquette an even-bonds plaquette. We find two phase transition temperatures in the Ising model.

Critical Properties of a Spin-3/2 Ising Model on a Square Lattice
Journal of the Physical Society of Japan, 1997Summary: We investigate a spin-3/2 Ising model on a square lattice by using Monte Carlo (MC) simulations and a density matrix renormalization group (DMRG) method. We obtain phase diagrams of the ground state. We carried out the MC simulations in order to calculate the critical temperature and the critical exponent \(\eta\).

Phase diagram of the Ising model on the square lattice with crossed diagonal bonds
Physical Review B, 1993The global phase diagram of the spin-1/2 Ising model with nearest- and next-nearest-neighbor interactions on the square lattice is considered, including the fully anisotropic cases. A closed-form expression is given that accurately represents the phase boundaries when the crossed next-nearest-neighbor interactions are not of opposite signs.

The square lattice Ising model with frustrated nearest-neighbour interaction
Physica B: Condensed Matter, 1998Abstract Using mean-field approximation (MFA), Lipowski–Suzuki method (LS) and Finite-size scaling based on transfer matrix calculations (TMFSS), we investigated the phase diagram of a two-dimentional spin 1/2 Ising model with a frustrated nearest-neighbour interaction.

Fisher's ising model with correlated random fields on a square lattice
Physics Letters A, 1988Abstract Fisher's Ising model for the “super-exchange” ferromagnet is investigated as an Ising model with correlated random fields. The system shows a phase transition whose nature is similar to the one for the original Fisher model. The present results are consistent with the lower critical dimensionality obtained by the domain wall argument due to ...

Exact differential renormalization group equations for Ising models on square lattices
Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 1982The differential real space renormalization theory of Hilhorst et al. is applied to Ising models on square lattices with nearest-neighbour interactions only. The renormalization flow equations for these two interaction parameters contain two auxiliary parameters; these parameters have to be determined by solving two additional equations, one partial ...
