Abstract Integrated dynamic scheduling (IDS) and economic nonlinear model predictive control (eNMPC) enable economic operation of chemical plants subject to volatile energy prices. Herein, we combine the two concepts into an integrated two‐layer scheme. Therein, IDS performs “long‐horizon” scheduling on a day‐ahead (DA) market and eNMPC “short‐horizon”

Homotopical Aspects of Commutative Algebras I: Freeness Conditions for Crossed Squares [PDF]
We give an alternative description of the top algebra of the free crossed square of algebras on 2-construction data in terms of tensors and coproducts of crossed modules of commutative algebras.

On the semisimplicity of the outer derivations of monomial algebras
We show that the Hochschild cohomology of a monomial algebra over a field of characteristic zero vanishes from degree two if the first Hochschild cohomology is semisimple as a Lie algebra.

Selection of solvents for integrated CO2 absorption and electrochemical reduction systems
Abstract Solvent‐based electrochemical CO2 reduction (CO2R) enables the production of chemicals or fuels using CO2 from a preceding absorption process. Employing previously tested CO2 capture solvents does not ensure their suitability for either CO2R or integrated CO2 absorption‐reduction.

Abstract Although thermally coupled distillation (TCD) exhibits strong energy efficiency, the possibility of utility cost savings remains debatable. TCD designs that do not consider vapor transport can underestimate costs, making section rearrangement crucial to find more operable configurations.

Crossed squares and 2-crossed modules [PDF]
Crossed squares and 2-crossed modules are both algebraic models for 3-types. This paper explores the interrelationships between these two models.

Reinforcement learning for optimal control of stochastic nonlinear systems
Abstract A reinforcement learning (RL) approach is developed in this work for nonlinear systems under stochastic uncertainty. A stochastic control Lyapunov function (SCLF) candidate is first constructed using neural networks (NNs) as an approximator to the value function, and then a control policy designed using this SCLF is developed to ensure the ...

Characterizing τ-rigid-finite algebras with radical square zero [PDF]
In this paper, we give a characterization of tau-rigid-finite algebras with radical square zero in terms of the separated quivers, which is an analog of a famous characterization of representation-finite algebras with radical square zero.

Process Resilience under Optimal Data Injection Attacks
Abstract In this article, we study the resilience of process systems in an information‐theoretic framework, from the perspective of an attacker capable of optimally constructing data injection attacks. The attack aims to distract the stationary distributions of process variables and stay stealthy, simultaneously.

The First Hochschild Cohomology of Square Algebras With it's Stability
In this paper, we study on a special case of generalized matrix algebra that we call it square algebra. According to that Hochschild cohomology play a significant role in Geometry for example in orbifolds, we study the first Hochschild cohomology of the ...
