Natural Convection in a Square Cavity Filled with Nanofluids
The present paper deals with a numerical study of natural convection in a square cavity filled with a nanofluid. The left and right vertical walls of the cavity are maintained at a local temperature Th (heat source) and a local cold temperature TC, respectively. Horizontal walls are assumed to be adiabatic.

A novel low‐bandgap random terpolymer is designed for narrow band detection in charge collection narrowing (CCN) based organic photodetectors. With a relative thin active layer (<1 µm), the CCN‐based devices achieved a narrowband response of 68 nm full‐width‐at‐half‐maximum at 916 nm, together with Responsivity values of 0.13 A W−1 and dark current of ...

Phases dynamics in VCSELs with delayed optical feedback and cross re-injection
We study theoretically the non linear polarization dynamics of Vertical-Cavity Surface-Emitting Lasers in the presence of an external cavity providing delayed optical feedback and cross polarization re-injection. We show that far from the laser threshold,

EuSc₂Te₄, an antiferromagnetic semiconductor, exhibits a nonlinear Hall effect (NLHE) characterized by quadratic current–voltage behavior. Combined experimental and theoretical studies reveal that this NLHE is linked to its antiferromagnetism and involves contributions from the quantum metric.

Crystal growth in nano-confinement: Subcritical cavity formation and viscosity effects [PDF]
We report on the modeling of the formation of a cavity at the surface of crystals confined by a flat wall during growth in solution. Using a continuum thin film model, we discuss two phenomena that could be observed when decreasing the thickness of the liquid film between the crystal and the wall down to the nanoscale.

Numerical Analysis of Thermal Non-Equilibrium in Porous Medium Subjected to Internal Heating
Thermal non-equilibrium in porous medium is a prevailing condition when discrepancy of temperature exists between the two phases. The solution of a thermal non-equilibrium model requires that the two heat transport equations corresponding to fluid and ...

3D Nano‐architected Polymer Shell Enables Reconfigurable Stabilized Blue Phase Soft Crystals
Spherical polymer shells featuring nanostructure of blue phase (BP) disclinations form via in situ photo‐polymerization within BP liquid crystals, providing controlled anchoring for BP nucleation and growth at room temperature and beyond. This architected confinement enhances BP thermal stability over a broad temperature range while enabling dynamic ...

Improved "Position Squared" Readout of a Mechanical Resonator in an Optical Cavity Using Degenerate Optical Modes [PDF]
Optomechanical devices in which a flexible SiN membrane is placed inside an optical cavity allow for very high finesse and mechanical quality factor in a single device. They also provide fundamentally new functionality: the cavity detuning can be a quadratic function of membrane position.
