Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Natural Convection Fluid Flow and Heat Transfer a Square Cavity with a Heated Triangular Obstacle Using Finite Element Method [PDF]

open access: yesمجله مدل سازی در مهندسی, 2018
In this paper, natural convection heat transfer in a closed square cavity with a hot triangular obstacle at temperature TH simulated by Finite Element Method. The top and the bottom walls are insulated while the left and the right walls are maintained at

Optimal state estimation for cavity optomechanical systems

open access: yes, 2015
We demonstrate optimal state estimation for a cavity optomechanical system through Kalman filtering. By taking into account nontrivial experimental noise sources, such as colored laser noise and spurious mechanical modes, we implement a realistic state ...

Generation of pure continuous-variable entangled cluster states of four separate atomic ensembles in a ring cavity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
A practical scheme is proposed for creation of continuous variable entangled cluster states of four distinct atomic ensembles located inside a high-finesse ring cavity.

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

NUMERICAL INVESTIGATION OF NATURAL CONVECTION AROUND A CIRCULAR CYLINDER PLACED IN A CAVITY FILLED WITH NANOFLUID BY CHANGING THE LOCATION AND RADIUS [PDF]

open access: yesمجله مدل سازی در مهندسی, 2013
In this article, a numerical study was conducted to examine the effect of location and diameter of the inner cylinder on laminar natural convection flow fields and temperature distribution around a circular body inserted square cavity.

High quality ultrafast transmission electron microscopy using resonant microwave cavities [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Ultrashort, low-emittance electron pulses can be created at a high repetition rate by using a TM$_{110}$ deflection cavity to sweep a continuous beam across an aperture.

Triple-Diffusive Natural Convection in a Square Porous Cavity

open access: yesTransport in Porous Media, 2015
The triple-diffusive flow, heat and mass transfer in a cavity filled with a porous medium and saturated with a mixture is theoretically studied in a cavity with differential temperature and concentrations at the side walls. The effect of buoyancy forces due to mass transfer of phases is also taken into account using the Boussinesq approximation.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Square-lattice photonic-crystal vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers

open access: yesOptics Express, 2004
The single mode square lattice photonic-crystal vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers (PC-VCSELs) are proposed and demonstrated. Square-lattice photonic-crystal patterns of various lattice constants are introduced on top mirrors of VCSELs having two different current apertures.
