A "Square-root" Method for the Density Matrix and its Applications to Lindblad Operators
The evolution of open systems, subject to both Hamiltonian and dissipative forces, is studied by writing the $nm$ element of the time ($t$) dependent density matrix in the form \ber \rho_{nm}(t)&=& \frac {1}{A} \sum_{\alpha=1}^A \gamma ^{\alpha}_n (t ...

Clinical trials on PARP inhibitors in urothelial carcinoma (UC) showed limited efficacy and a lack of predictive biomarkers. We propose SLFN5, SLFN11, and OAS1 as UC‐specific response predictors. We suggest Talazoparib as the better PARP inhibitor for UC than Olaparib.

Exceptionally deficient topological square-root insulators
One of the most surprising features of effectively non-Hermitian physical systems is their potential to exhibit a striking nonlinear response and fragility to small perturbations.

We developed a cost‐effective methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex assay containing tissue‐conserved and tumor‐specific methylation markers. The assay can detect circulating tumor DNA with high accuracy in patients with localized and metastatic colorectal cancer.

More on the dynamics of the symbolic square root map
In our earlier paper [A square root map on Sturmian words, Electron. J. Combin. 24.1 (2017)], we introduced a symbolic square root map. Every optimal squareful infinite word $s$ contains exactly six minimal squares and can be written as a product of ...

Monitoring circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) in patients with operable breast cancer can reveal disease relapse earlier than radiology in a subset of patients. The failure to detect ctDNA in some patients with recurrent disease suggests that ctDNA could serve as a supplement to other monitoring approaches.

Inexact Quantum Square Root Circuit for NISQ Devices
Noisy intermediate-scale quantum (NISQ) computers face significant reliability challenges because they are vulnerable to quantum noise, which severely limits their fidelity in quantum applications.

InSAR Phase Unwrapping Based on Square-Root Cubature Kalman Filter
In this article, we propose a novel phase unwrapping method termed the square-root cubature Kalman filter phase unwrapping (SCKFPU) method. Specifically, as the system model of the interferometric synthetic aperture (InSAR) phase unwrapping can be ...

Algorithms for outerplanar graph roots and graph roots of pathwidth at most 2
Deciding whether a given graph has a square root is a classical problem that has been studied extensively both from graph theoretic and from algorithmic perspectives.
